A process for production of components of a plastic material, in particular fiber-reinforced plastic material. The component is produced starting with a device for providing plastic material to a continuous manufacturing process involving roller profiling of heated plastic material. The plastic material is assembled in the device for providing of plastic material of several different stock or semi-finished parts. At least one of the stock or semi-finished parts is made of a metallic material, in particular sheet metal.

A vehicle having a table board is provided. The table board is moveable between an out-of-use position, in which the table board is accommodated in the vehicle, and a position of use, in which the table board projects longitudinally from the vehicle. At least one seat is mounted in such a way on the table board, through a folding linkage, such that in the position of use of the table board, the seat can be pivoted between a space-saving out-of-use position and a position of use suitable for sitting at the table board.

Method for filling cavities in workpieces or semi-finished products is provided, in which thermally foamable powdered carbon is added in fixed locations into the cavity to be filled and is heated together with the workpiece or semi-finished product in such fashion that the powdered carbon swells and fills the cavity as carbon foam, with the particles of powdered carbon in the delivered state being smaller than after foaming. A structural component is formed, especially a workpiece or semi-finished product for mounting on or in a motor vehicle body, having an enclosed chamber in which thermally foamable powdered carbon is added in a fixed location, with the powdered carbon being heated together with the structural element to swell the powdered carbon and form carbon foam.

In a method of using a closed, extruded profile, developing a hollow profile and producing a stepped cross-sectional metal sheet with different wall thicknesses, the profile or the hollow profile is used as a starting material for rolling. The hollow profile has only one wall, which turns back in on itself in the peripheral direction without branching and is of different thicknesses at different points of the periphery. The hollow profile is separated along a surface line, is formed into the semifinished article and is subsequently rolled to produce the metal sheet.

A firewall for a vehicle body including stable rigid side parts in the shape of an inverted U and a deformation insert connected in the part of the open central area of the inverted U. The deformation insert allows at least partial intrusion of assemblies from the engine compartment into the passenger compartment in the event of a vehicle collision. This design permits a shorter front end.
