Abstract:
A coating apparatus is known in which a coating liquid is continuously delivered from the front-end slit of a die nozzle for application onto a base film which constantly runs without being supported from the back. The improvement is made in which the die nozzle has at the film loading side a front lip and at the film unloading side a rear lip provided at least with a convex surface, both of which being arranged in step relationship so that the slit side end of the front lip is set back from the path of the base film to locate lower than that of the rear lip. Thereby, a higher shear force will be exerted on the magnetic coating liquid temporarily trapped in a space defined by the running base film and the slit side end of the rear lip, thus allowing a smooth surfaced coating to be developed of a highly agglomerative coating material.
Abstract:
An improved expansion valve (10) disclosed for use with an air conditioning system (12) for an automobile. High pressure regrigerant flow is modulated through the valve by movement of a valve member (92) in response to the superheat of the low pressure refrigerant flow through a first passage (32) in the expansion valve. The low pressure regfrigerant superheat is sensed by a power element (74) containing an adsorbent and gas which deflects a diaphragm (82) to a degree related to the superheat of the low pressure flow. The diaphragm acts on an annular seal retainer (100) to modulate the position of the valve member (92). A cupshaped high pressure seal (104) is provided between the valve member (92) and wall of the passage (54) in which the valve member moves to balance the forces on the valve member exerted by the high pressure refrigerant. The balanced valve member allows use of a compact power element, permitting the body (30) of the valve (10) to be formed of plastic.
Abstract:
A level winder for double-bearing fishing reel is provided with a spool shaft rotatably arranged on support frames and having a spool gear meshable with a drive gear operable by a handle which is rotatably held by support frames, a traverse cam guide cylinder mounted on a traverse cam through which is extended a traverse cam shaft to one end of which is fitted a traverse cam shaft gear which is meshable with the drive gear, and with a level winder guide arm which is mounted on and rotated with the traverse cam guide cylinder connected to a traverse cam shaft bushing and which is shiftable reciprocally in lateral direction. The level winder further includes a device for engaging or disengaging the traverse cam shaft gear with the traverse cam and a device for actuating the traverse cam shaft bushing which is connected to the traverse cam guide cylinder to be rotated, and a pair of line guide arms the lower end of which are arranged through a pair of leaf springs on a base stand to be resiliently held thereby in such a way that the upper end of the line guide arms may be shifted laterally in opposite direction to form a letter V when a line guide holder which is holding the pair of line guide arms in parallel between retractable pins disposed on the holder is tilted away from the line guide arms in accordance with the tilting of the traverse cam guide cylinder.
Abstract:
An on-load tap-changing transformer in which its high-voltage winding is axially divided into parallel-connected halves, and an end conductor constituting part of the high-voltage winding is connected to the other terminal of each of the halves. A coarse tap coil connected by the end conductor to the other terminal of each of the halves of the high-voltage winding is disposed adjacent to the associated half, and a fine tap coil connected to the coarse tap coil through a coarse tap selector used for the change-over of the tap position to the taps of the coarse tap coil is disposed at a radial position spaced apart from the coarse tap coil. The end conductor is wound together with the conductors of the fine tap coil.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a radio wave angle of incidence measurement apparatus which is applicable to radar and other detection systems, and which utilizes an antenna array with radiator elements distributed at a spacing larger than one half of the propagation wavelength. A radio signal is received by an antenna array that exhibit at least two different values of d/.lambda. (where d is the inter-element spacing of the radiator elements, .lambda. the propagation wavelength), and the resultant inter-element phase differences, of which there are at least two sets, are digitally measured. A phase difference converter circuit receives the digital signals representing the inter-element phase differences and processes them and generates an output signal that varies monotonically as the incident angle of the radio signal incident on the antenna array varies.
Abstract:
A scraping blade for use in a thin film dryer adapted for processing radioactive substances comprises a main body, a hing member rigidly attached to one side of the body and pivotably connected to a rotor in the dryer, a blade chip attached to the other side of the body for engaging the radioactive substance, and a screw member engaged with the body to secure the blade chip to the body. The blade chip is made of a material more than 1.2 times harder than the radioactive substance. The blade may further comprise an engaging member for screw engagement with the screw having edge portions to be engaged with recesses formed on the blade chip and the main body.
Abstract:
A speaker diaphragm assembly comprises a body made of a foam resin, and a sound radiating surface portion integrally formed with the body. In one embodiment, the sound radiating surface portion is made of a foam resin the density of which is greater than that at the body. In another embodiment, the sound radiating surface portion comprises a thin layer made of a solid resin, which thin layer is welded to the body. The rear end portion of the body may be reinforced in the same manner. In another embodiment, a supporting member is attached to the side surface of the diaphragm body for increasing the efficiency in vibration transmission from the voice coil. In another embodiment, a ring-like recess is made in the side surface of the body for spaced electrical terminals, to which heat is transmitted from the voice coil via lead wires, from the body, while a sub cone having low thermal conductivity is sandwiched between the lead wires and the body.
Abstract:
The diaphragm of a speaker is supported by a viscous supporting member placed in an annular gap defined between the periphery of the diaphragm and the inner surface of a frame structure and by a conventional damper. Grooves may be made in the periphery of the diaphragm and in the inner surface of the frame structure for receiving some portions of the viscous supporting member. In another embodiment, a film made of a resin is welded to the front surface of a diaphragm body which is made of a foam resin. In other embodiments, one or more reinforcing members are fixedly adhered to both the voice coil bobbin and the flat rear surface of the diaphragm.
