    Abstract: The present invention describes a mineral wool product comprising mineral fibers bound by a binder resulting from the curing of a binder composition comprising a phenol-formaldehyde-based resin, and/or a carbohydrate containing component; a hydrophobic agent comprising: (i) at least one silicone compound, such as silicone resin, such as a reactive silicone resin, such as a reactive silicone resin chosen from the group of polyalkylethoxysiloxane, polymethylethoxysiloxane, polyphenylethoxysiloxane, polyphenylsiloxane, polyphenylmethylsiloxane; (ii) at least one hardener, such as silane, such as alkyltriethoxysilane, such as octyltriethoxysilane; (iii) at least one emulsifier; as insulation of a metallic structure, said structure having an operating temperature between 0-650° C., such as between 25-500° C., such as between 70-300° C., such as between 300-650° C.

    Abstract: The present invention concerns a partition wall for a building structure comprising a plurality of building units separated by such partition wall to provide acoustic insulation therebetween, said partition wall comprising: a plurality of column assemblies, such as at least two, substantially vertically mounted in a generally horizontally oriented base profile, each column assembly comprising a central element made of mineral wool fibres and at least a first spacer elements made of mineral wool fibres and extending from said central section towards the first side with a first intermediate profile provided between the central element and the first spacer elements and a second intermediate profile provided on the side of the central element facing the second side of the wall, a second spacer elements made of mineral wool fibres and extending towards the second side of the partition wall; and wherein the density of the mineral wool in the central element is higher than the density of the first and second spacer elements, one or more insulation sections fitted between two adjacent column assemblies, wherein each insulation section comprises an inner mineral wool fibre panel provided in a close fit between the central elements of said adjacent column assemblies; first and second mineral wool fibre panels provided in a close fit between the first and second spacer elements, respectively, of said adjacent column assemblies, and wherein the densities of said first and second mineral wool fibre panels are substantially the same and lower than the density of the inner mineral wool panel; and an first external wall cover abutting the first mineral wool fibre panel and secured to the first spacer elements of the adjacent column assemblies, and a second external wall cover abutting the second mineral wool fibre panel and secured to the second spacer elements of the adjacent column assemblies.

    Abstract: The present invention concerns a method for heat insulating a building surface with insulation boards, wherein each insulation board has two parallel main surfaces and four side surfaces connecting the two large surfaces, whereby the insulation boards are arranged adjacently on the building surface with each insulation board having a lowermost of the main surfaces facing the building surface, wherein each insulation board is divided into an upper part and a lower part with an interface that is substantially parallel with the two main surfaces, and wherein the method comprises the steps of arranging an insulation board on the building surface and then shifting the upper part of said insulation board a distance to at least partly cover a lower part of at least one neighbouring insulation board. The invention also concerns an insulation board for use in the method.

    Abstract: A plant growth system is provided, which includes: one or more plant growth substrates comprising an MMVF slab and a single MMVF block; one or more detectors arranged to monitor at least one of the water and nutrient levels of at least one of the plant growth substrates; at least one irrigation device arranged to supply water and nutrients to the plant growth substrates; and control mechanism connected to said detectors and said at least one irrigation device. The supply of water and nutrients by the at least one irrigation device is controlled by the control mechanism in dependence on the monitored water and/or nutrient levels. In this manner, the water and nutrient levels of the substrates can be accurately controlled.
