Abstract:
A vacuum brake booster provides a braking speed of application enhancement by increasing the air valve opening when a vehicle operator applies braking force quickly and forcefully. This is accomplished with a two part air valve which is normally expanded axially to a normal length by an internal spring but which may be shortened to open the air valve by a greater amount when the brake pedal input force is sufficient to move the air valve axially against another spring into contact with a shoulder of the power piston. The internal spring has a much higher preload than the other spring so that the booster operates with a fully axially expanded air valve in normal, low force brake activation. Once the air valve axially engages the power piston, however, the increase in air valve opening is immediate and substantial with any further increase in braking force. The air valve has an air valve input element having a pin projecting radially outward into an opening in a side wall of an air valve output element surrounding the air valve input element so as to axially engage a side of the opening to limit expansion of the air valve by the spring and thus define the normal axial length of the air valve.
Abstract:
A shank-mounted opener assembly connected to a seed distribution system is provided for both till and no-till operations. The opener assembly includes a spike member that is supported on the shank, a firming point, a seed sensor connected to the seed supply, a seed boot, a seed locking mechanism, and a multi media delivery tube assembly. The seed boot encloses the seed sensor and includes a pair of lateral side walls. The seed boot protects the seed sensor from moving soil and debris. The seed locking mechanism pushes the seed into the soil and forms a shallow layer of soil over the seed dispensed through the seed sensor. If desired, assistive media can be dispensed into the furrow at the same time as seeding. The assistive media are dispensed through the multi-media delivery tube assembly. The assistive media are not dispensed to the furrow until after the seed locking mechanism covers the seed with a shallow layer of soil.
Abstract:
A brake apply system includes a power booster in which, when released and at-rest, a leg of a stop engages a clip and an extension of a valve body engages the clip so that an annular rib of the valve body is axially spaced away from the stop by a distance G. At the same time, a first valve seat is engaged with a first annular valve element closing a pressure supply conduit off from a variable pressure chamber and a second valve seat is spaced away from a second annular valve element by a distance T, opening the variable pressure chamber to an atmospheric pressure chamber. When the power booster is applied, the second valve seat moves the distance T and engages the second annular valve element closing the variable pressure chamber off from the atmospheric pressure chamber and the first valve seat separates from the first annular valve element opening the pressure supply conduit to the variable pressure chamber. The stop moves against the annular rib of the valve body so that when the pushrod is initially released the second annular valve element moves away from the second valve seat a distance equal to G+T. A pressurized air supply communicates with the power booster and includes a compressor and a dryer. When the compressor is turned off a solenoid valve opens and a quantity of dry air contained in a regeneration reservoir passes through the dryer, regenerating the dryer.

Abstract:
A magnetic motor vehicle body protection apparatus includes a sheet of flexible magnetic material of a thickness capable of being cut with scissors. Markings are provided on the sheet providing an outline of a portion of a body of an motor vehicle. The sheet is cut to size and magnetically adhered to a panel section of a vehicular body with the sheet substantially contiguous with that portion of the vehicular body being covered, such that any scrape or blow to that portion of the body is absorbed by the sheet.

A smart insulin pump that is programmable to customize for the physical and mental conditions of a user. A user may input information that may be analyzed by the insulin pump to deliver insulin with appropriate bolus type and basal rate, such as particular or customizable to that user or a group. The insulin pump, apparatus, system, technique, methodology and kit of the present invention includes a computerized controller to analyze, and input and control operations of the pump, delivering the bolus of insulin at an adaptable and varying basal rate better suited to the characteristics of the patient in question.
Abstract:
A screw back-out prevention mechanism for a bone fixation system is provided. The mechanism, when engaged, either locks or retains the screws of the bone fixation system in place thereby preventing the screws of the bone fixation system from backing out of the bone, and in turn reducing the risk of device separation or failure in the bone fixation system.
Abstract:
The method comprises processing plural product information records from the product information sources into one or more groups based on which product information records are likely to correspond to the same product, correlating a unique product ID corresponding to the product associated with each of said groups to identify the product, comparing each identified product to categories of a taxonomy to determine a category for the identified products in the taxonomy, and determining attributes for each categorized product based on the product information records corresponding to each group, creating product specifications based on the determined attributes and storing the product specification in the corresponding determined categories of the taxonomy.
Abstract:
A data structure is provided that determines which application elements need to be recompiled in a compiler as a result of a change to other application elements, where the change to the other application elements are related to a change in a Java Class Path. The determined application elements are recompiled along with any application elements that have dependencies on the determined application elements.
