    摘要: Disclosed is a master cylinder wherein a seal member is given plural seal functions to reduce the number of seal members for partitioning a drain portion of the master cylinder, a constant-pressure chamber of a booster and the atmosphere from one another, so that the master cylinder is simplified in construction and reduced in manufacturing cost. When a piston is operated by an output shaft of the booster attached to a booster mounting surface of a cylinder body, the operating fluid from the fluid pressure chamber partitioned by a fluid-tight seal member is supplied to a brake system. An annular complex seal member is fit in an internal seal stepped portion which is formed by radially expanding an opening portion of the cylinder which opens to a booster mounting surface. A slide seal portion of the complex seal member partitions a drain portion behind the fluid-tight seal member from the constant-pressure chamber of the booster through sliding contact with the piston. An air-tight seal portion of the complex seal member partitions the constant-pressure chamber from the atmosphere through abutting engagement with the front end surface of the booster. Further, a fixed seal portion of the complex seal member partitions the drain portion from the atmosphere through abutting engagement with the internal surface of an internal seal stepped portion.

The elastic return member (22) is arranged outside of the primary piston (3) and a transmission element (T) is provided to transmit a return force of the elastic return member (22) to the reaction piston (19).

    摘要: A boosted braking device for a motor vehicle having a master cylinder (200) and a pneumatic booster (100) operated by applying an input force to an operating rod (26). The booster (100) has a rigid casing (10) which is divided by a partition (16) into at least first (12) and second (14) leaktight chambers. The partition (16) is acted upon via a difference in pressure between the first (12) and second (14) chambers on the opening of a three-way valve (24) to allow pressurized fluid to be communicated to the second chamber (14). A main hydraulic piston (30) which is located in the master cylinder (200) has a hollow cylinder (32) which is in communication with an interior volume (V) of the master cylinder (200). A secondary hydraulic piston (34) slides in a leaktight fashion inside of the hollow cylinder (32). The secondary hydraulic piston (34) includes a two-way valve (56) which is normally open but interrupts communication between the interior volume (V) of the master cylinder (200) and an interior volume (35) in the hollow cylinder (32) when a variation in an input force is greater than a predetermined value. The secondary hydraulic piston (14) is composite and includes a first part (50) and a second part (52). In a rest position, the first part (50) abuts the hollow cylinder (32) under the effects of a first elastic force from a first elastic member (46) while the second part (52) is capable of sliding with respect to and abut the first part (50) under the effects of a second elastic force from a second elastic member (54,92).

    摘要: A brake actuation apparatus includes a pneumatic booster and a master cylinder. A control rod in the booster responds to an input force for actuating a valve in the brake booster to develop an actuation force which is applied to a main hydraulic piston located in the master cylinder to pressurize fluid and effect a brake application. The main hydraulic piston includes a cylinder member with a bore therein for retaining a secondary hydraulic piston connected to the control rod. The cylinder member has at least one opening whereby pressurized fluid is communicated between the master cylinder and bore as function of a flow-rate reducer located in the one opening. The communication of fluid between the master cylinder and bore is always from the higher fluid pressure toward the lower fluid pressure. The fluid pressure in the bore acts on the secondary hydraulic piston to oppose the input force and thereby modify the time the valve remains opened by the input force and correspondingly the development of the actuation force for the pressurizing of fluid in the master cylinder.
