Abstract:
A process for forming a three-dimensional article in sequential layers in accordance with a digital model of the article. The process comprises the steps of defining a layer of powder material, applying a liquid reagent to the powder layer in a pattern corresponding to the digital model, and repeating these steps to form successive layers. The powder comprises a first reactive component and the liquid includes a second active component capable of reacting with the first reactive component so that the article is built up in layers.
Abstract:
The present invention is related generally to embryonic-like stem cells isolated from adult human peripheral blood, designated herein as peripheral blood-stem cells (PB-SC), which display the characteristics of embryonic stem cells and hematopoietic cells. These cells have the capability of proliferation and are able to differentiate to other types of cells. These cells are, therefore, suitable for use in stem cell-based therapies, particularly autologous stem cell therapies, for the treatment of various diseases such as neurodegenerative diseases, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, spinal cord damage, multiple sclerosis, cardiovascular disease, stroke and birth defects.
Abstract:
A circuit for controlling rotation speed of a computer fan includes a fan header for connecting to a 4-pin fan or a 3-pin fan, a jumper device, an amplifier, and a controller. The jumper device has a first pin for receiving a controlling signal, and connected to a first power source, a second pin connected to the fan header, and a third pin connected to the first power source. The amplifier has an input terminal connected to the third pin of the jumper device via an integrator. The controller has a first terminal connected to an output terminal of the amplifier, a second terminal connected to a second power source, and a third terminal connected to the fan header and connected to a positive input terminal of the amplifier via a resistor. The first pin of the jumper device is selectively connected to the second or third pin.
Abstract:
As a mobile device moves from one location area to another, the mobile device detects the different location identifiers broadcast by the wireless network(s) in those locations areas. The mobile device stores the location identifier for the last location area in which the mobile device was located. By comparing a received location identifier to the stored location identifier, the mobile device determines if the mobile device has entered a new location area. If so, the mobile device sends a location update request. In one embodiment, if the location update request is for a location area to which access by the mobile device is restricted, the network sends a communication to the mobile device that triggers the mobile device to update a location identifier stored at the mobile device to the location identifier for the restricted location area so that the mobile can update the network after entering/selecting a different location area.
Abstract:
The present invention is related generally to embryonic-like stem cells isolated from human umbilical cord blood, designated herein as cord blood-stem cells (CB-SC's), which display the characteristics of embryonic stem cells and hematopoietic cells. These cells have the capability of proliferation and are able to differentiate to multiple types of cells. In addition, the CB-SC display low immunogenicity and immune regulation. These cells are, therefore, suitable for use in stem cell-based therapies for the treatment of diseases such as Parkinson's disease, diabetes, spinal cord damage, multiple sclerosis, cardiovascular disease, stroke and birth defects, and for preventing, treating and/or reducing an autoimmune disease in a mammalian subject.

Abstract:
A memory voltage control circuit includes two slots, a control circuit, a voltage conversion circuit, and a switch circuit. The two slots are able to efficiently process different memory types. The control circuit receives memory identification signals from the two slots. The control circuit administers the output voltage of the voltage conversion circuit according to the memory identification signals. The memory identification signals determine whether the switch circuit is to be turned on or off. This will control whether the output voltage of the voltage conversion circuit will go to the first or the second slot.
Abstract:
A leakage current prevention circuit for preventing a power source from being affected by leakage current includes a first transistor, and a second transistor. A gate of the first transistor receives a control signal and a source of the first transistor is grounded. A gate of the second transistor is connected to a drain of the first transistor, a drain of the second transistor is electrically connected to the power source, and a source of the second transistor is connected to a pull-up circuit which is connected to a chipset. When the chipset receives a drive signal, the control signal controls status of the first and second transistors so that the power source provides voltage to the pull-up circuit for the drive signal.
Abstract:
Paging of a mobile device within a mobile pool area serviced by two or more mobile switching nodes is reduced using logical paging areas. The mobile pool area includes a plurality of location areas, each serviced by the two or more switching nodes. In addition, the mobile pool area is divided into multiple logical paging areas, in which each logical paging area includes at least two location areas. Upon receiving a mobile terminated call for the mobile device, if the location area of the mobile device is unknown, the logical paging area within which the mobile device is located is determined in order to page the mobile device and deliver the mobile terminated call to the mobile device.
Abstract:
A method for identifying common multiphone units to add to a unit inventory for a text-to-speech generator is disclosed. The common multiphone units are units that are larger than a phone, but smaller than a syllable. The method slices each syllable into a plurality of slices. These slices are then sorted and the frequency of each slice is determined. Those slices whose frequencies exceed a threshold are added to the unit inventory. The remaining slices are decomposed according to a predetermined set of rules to determine if they contain slices that should be added to the unit inventory.
