摘要: Systems and methods for 2-D barcode recognition are described. In one aspect, the systems and methods use a charge coupled camera capturing device to capture a digital image of a 3-D scene. The systems and methods evaluate the digital image to localize and segment a 2-D barcode from the digital image of the 3-D scene. The 2-D barcode is rectified to remove non-uniform lighting and correct any perspective distortion. The rectified 2-D barcode is divided into multiple uniform cells to generate a 2-D matrix array of symbols. A barcode processing application evaluates the 2-D matrix array of symbols to present data to the user.

摘要: Systems and methods for detecting doctored JPEG images are described. In one aspect, a JPEG image is evaluated to determine if the JPEG image comprises double quantization effects of double quantized Discrete Cosine Transform coefficients. In response to results of these evaluation operations, the systems and methods determine whether the JPEG image has been doctored and identify any doctored portion.

摘要: Real-time rendering of realistic rain is described. In one aspect, image samples of real rain and associated information are automatically modeled in real-time to generate synthetic rain particles in view of respective scene radiances of target video content frames. The synthetic rain particles are rendered in real-time using pre-computed radiance transfer with uniform random distribution across respective frames of the target video content.

摘要: The present decoding technique provides an efficient technique for decoding linear block codes from multiple encoders. When an error in a code sequence is detected, the decoding technique estimates a confidence for each bit within the code sequence. Based on the confidence, a subset of bits within the code sequence is obtained. The subset of bits is then incrementally flipped to determine a set of modified code sequences. A syndrome is computed for each of the modified code sequences based on a preceding computed syndrome and an update vector.

摘要: A system and method for shape recognition of hand-drawn objects is provided. A shape recognizer may recognize a drawing such as a diagram or chart from ink input by recognizing closed containers and/or unclosed connectors in the drawing. The closed containers may represent any number of shapes that may be recognized including circles, ellipses, triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and so forth. The unclosed connectors may be any type of connector including lines, curves, arrows, and so forth. Polylines may be used to approximate a skeleton of a connector for handling continuation strokes, overlapping strokes and over-tracing strokes of the skeleton. By using the present invention, a user may draw diagrams and flow charts freely and without restrictions on the hand-drawn input.

摘要: Systems and methods for detecting annotation digital ink strokes and further associating annotation digital ink strokes with word digital ink strokes are presented. Ink strokes are captured on a writing surface and then classified as words or annotations. Annotations are then anchored to corresponding words. When words are relocated or edited on the writing surface, the anchored annotations are also relocated and may even be reshaped according to the changes in the anchored words.

摘要: Methods and systems for training a computer to recognize and verify an individual's signature are provided. One illustrative method extracts a plurality of both global and local features from a relatively small sample of handwriting samples. In one such embodiment, only 5 samples are needed from an individual without requiring forgeries. In yet another embodiment, only three global parameters are utilized, thus reducing the complexity, and processing power, of the system. Utilizing such few global parameters also facilitates fine tuning of the systems. Further aspects of the invention relate to a multi-stage statistical system for on-line signature verification. In one embodiment, the system may comprise a simplified GMM model built on global signature properties and a left-to-right HMM model based on segmental features. In one embodiment, specific strategies are utilized to create model simplification and initialization in contrast to general GMM and HMM models.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention determine whether an image has been altered. Sets of patches are selected in the image, and corresponding inverse response functions are provided to a support vector machine (SVM). The support vector machine is trained with exemplary normal and abnormal inverse response functions. Once trained, the support vector machine analyzes inverse response functions corresponding to a suspected image. The support vector machine determines if the inverse response functions are normal or abnormal by analyzing a set of features. In one embodiment, features include measures for monotonic characteristics, fluctuation characteristics, and divergence characteristics of the red, green, and blue components of a tuple. Each tuple of inverse response functions is associated with a set of patches selected in the image.

摘要: In accordance with embodiments of the invention, global metadata, such as a document identifier, which may be a globally unique identifier, is embedded into an embedded interactive code document by combining a first m-array and a plurality of copies of the first m-array to generate a combined m-array with encoded global metadata such that respective start positions (xd,yd)i of the plurality of copies of the first m-array in the combined m-array are each shifted, by respective amounts that are based on respective portions of the global metadata, relative to a start position of the first m-array in the combined m-array. Global metadata may be decoded from the combined m-array by determining the respective amounts by which the plurality of copies of the first m-array are shifted, relative to the first m-array, in the combined m-array and by combining the respective amounts to produce a decoded value of the global metadata.

摘要: An input method and apparatus is provided for use in various computer and mobile devices. The input device utilizes a rotating dial in which four arrows printed on the dial are rotated to select characters that are fixed along the circumference of a circle. The characters are divided into various zones. The zones are utilized to encode various letters and numbers. Additionally the zones may be utilized for editing and control functions. The dial may be freely rotated. Pressing any arrow inputs the character that the arrow points to on the dial. The input device and method may encode Asian language characters according to a set of encoding rules.
