Abstract: A wireless power transmission system may include a wireless power transmitting device such as a tablet computer and a wireless power receiving device such as a computer stylus. A wireless power transmitting capacitor electrode may be formed in the tablet computer. A wireless power receiving capacitor electrode may be formed in the computer stylus. The transmitting capacitor electrode may be driven by a drive signal having a frequency of 900 MHz or greater to produce wireless power. The wireless power may be transmitted from the transmitting capacitor electrode to the receiving capacitor electrode on the stylus via near field capacitive coupling. The transmitting and receiving capacitor electrodes may each include conductive traces on dielectric substrates. The conductive traces may follow meandering paths to maximize the possible capacitive coupling efficiency between the capacitor electrodes and thus the end-to-end charging efficiency of the wireless power transmission system.

Abstract: In an example method, a mobile device connects a voice call for a user. The voice call causes one or more radio frequency transmitters of the mobile device to transmit radio waves at a first power level. Motion data describing movement of the mobile device is obtained, and the orientation of the mobile device is determined based on the motion data. A determination whether the mobile device is on the user's body or on an inanimate object is made based on the orientation of the mobile device over the period of time. The transmit power level is adjusted based on the determination.

Abstract: An electronic device may transfer power wirelessly to an external device. The electronic device may include a housing having a cavity. A cover layer may be formed over the cavity. An array of antennas may be formed within the cavity. Antennas in the array may transfer wireless charging signals to the external device through the cover layer to charge the external device while the external device is in contact with the cover layer. Impedance detection circuitry may gather impedance matching information from each antenna in the array. Control circuitry may select an antenna having a best impedance match with the external device for transmitting the wireless charging signals. One or more antennas in the array may form a block filter for the selected antenna. Multiple near-field coupled antennas in the array may be selected for transmitting the charging signals to focus the charging signals on the external device.

Abstract: A technique for dynamically adjusting power use of an input/output (I/O) interface of an electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes an input/output (I/O) interface that facilitates electronic communications with a receiving electronic device, at a particular transmission rate that is dynamically changeable by the electronic device. Transmission power and transmission rate adjustment circuitry determines whether a step-down in a transmission power used for signal transmission at the particular transmission rate is desirable. When desirable, the transmission power is dynamically adjusted down one step, such that less power is used by the I/O interface during the electronic communications.

Abstract: Resource allocation logic in a user device can determine allocation of a shared resource among different communication modules supporting a number of different communication types (e.g., GNSS, cellular, Wi-Fi, and/or Bluetooth communications) in a context-dependent manner. For example, the logic can determine an operating context of the user device. Based on the operating context, the logic can assign a priority to each of the signal types. The shared resource can be allocated among the signal types based on the priority.
