A sterile container system for the sterile transport and storage of medical, in particular surgical instruments and/or implants during a sterilization process, includes a closable sterile container which is formed by a lid and a trough, and at least one sieve cage which can be inserted therein, at least one fastening device being present which acts, on the one hand, on one of the medical instruments which can be inserted in the sieve cage, immobilizing the instrument on the sieve cage, and at the same time acts on the sieve cage, immobilizing the latter on the sterile container.

A surgical clip cartridge is provided, having a housing member, a plurality of C-shaped surgical clips stored in the housing member, and a plurality of compartments provided on the housing member, each compartment being adapted for receiving a respective one of the surgical clips. A holding member is arranged on the housing member on opposite sides of each compartment, each of the holding members being adapted to be pivoted from a holding position into a release position and, in the holding position, the holding members on opposite sides of each compartment fix the respective surgical clip in the respective compartment and, in the release position, the holding members are removed from the respective surgical clip. A releasable, resilient latching connection is provided for fixing the holding members in the holding position relative to the housing member.

A device for counting sterilization cycles during the sterilization of medical instruments and devices includes a counter for recording and reproducing a number of sterilization cycles, an actuation unit for sterilization parameter-dependent actuation of the counter, and a locking unit for sterilization parameter-dependent locking the counter. The actuation unit actuates the counter upon exceeding a first threshold sterilization parameter. The locking unit locks the counter after an actuation has been carried out and/or after exceeding a second threshold sterilization parameter, and unlocks the counter after not meeting a third threshold sterilization parameter.

The invention relates to a medical deformation device for a medical article, said deformation device comprising a receptacle for fixing the article, a deformation tool used to act on the article for deformation purposes, the deformation tool being movable in a defined manner relative to the receptacle, and a medical marking device that is detectable by a navigation system is held in each case on the receptacle and on the deformation tool for the purposes of determining a relative position of the deformation tool and the receptacle, wherein a further marking device is fixed to the deformation tool for the purposes of determining, by means of the navigation system, an extent of a deformation of the article. Moreover, the invention relates to a deformation system and a method for deforming a medical article.

A medical instrument includes an endoscope shaft and an electrode cap with a pin axially movable in the endoscope shaft. A first electrode is held by a first electrode carrier at a distal end piece of the endoscope shaft, and a second electrode is held by a second electrode carrier at the electrode cap. A safety switch is arranged in proximity to one of the electrode carriers and interconnected with a feed line that feeds HF current to the second electrode. The safety switch can be brought into an OFF or disconnect position to disconnect HF current supply to the second electrode. The safety switch can include an outer contact ring fixed at a proximal end portion of the pin, and an actuating rod that protrudes from the pin at the distal end and transmits movement to the second electrode carrier.

A surgical instrument for bonding body tissue includes an instrument shank or shaft, a first tool element, a second tool element axially movable relative to the first tool element, and an annular sleeve-like cutting element. The second tool element includes a plurality of tool element members that are radially deflectable. The first and second tool elements are each equipped with at least one electrode. The second tool element includes a biasing member that biases the tool element members in a radially inward direction. A stop member is operable in a first position to hold the tool element members against the biasing force of the biasing member in which the tool element members assume a maximum outer diameter. The stop member is further operable in a second position to release the tool element members such that the tool element members can deflect radially inwardly and cut body tissue.

The invention relates to a surgical retractor, in particular, for spreading a severed sternum, comprising a first retaining device and a second retaining device, which each have a spreader arm with at least one retaining element held thereon, a holding device for holding the retaining devices on each other, and a drive device with which the distance of the spreader arms from each other along a retraction direction is alterable for transfer to a spread position. In order to provide a retractor of this kind which, having a compact design, is easy to handle, it is proposed in accordance with the invention that the retaining devices each have a holding arm connected to the respective spreader arm, and both holding arms couple with the drive device and be displaceable via the drive device relative to each other and relative to the holding device along a displacement direction.

A closure for a medical sterile container having a trough-like first container part and a lid-type second container part includes a closure flap which can be arranged on one of the container parts so as to be able to pivot between a closed position, in which the container parts are interlocked with each other by the closure, and an open position in which the container parts are unlocked. The closure includes a latch element which in the closed position of the closure interlocks the closure flap with the other container part.

The invention relates to a surgical retractor, particularly for the retraction of a separated sternum, with a holding device and two spreader arms, wherein the spreader arms are mounted with one end on the holding device, at a distance from each other that is adjustable in a spreading plane, and at least two retaining elements for retention of bone material, for example of the separated sternum, are arranged on each of the spreader arms. To develop this retractor for sternotomy in such a way as to permit gentler opening of the separated sternum, it is proposed that at least one of the retaining elements is mounted such that its position can be modified in the retraction direction with respect to that end of the spreader arm mounted on the holding device.
