摘要: Embodiments of the invention include a method for sensing. Other embodiments include a method for sensing molecules, for example, homonuclear diatomic molecules. The method may include transmitting light from a light source through a hollow-core wave-guiding device that exhibits a low attenuation at predetermined operating optical frequencies; introducing a gaseous medium between the light source and the hollow-core wave-guiding device; and detecting molecules within the gas.

摘要: A device for emission of electromagnetic radiation comprises a source of atomic particles and a collector disposed to receive atomic particles from the source. The collector comprises an emission medium, the medium comprising a crystal having a spatial dimension in the range from about 10 nanometers to about 50 micrometers, wherein the emission medium has the capability to generate opposing charge pairs upon absorption of atomic particles from the source and to emit electromagnetic radiation upon recombination of the pairs. The emission may be via spontaneous emission or, in certain embodiments, by stimulated emission. A laser assembly comprising this device, and methods for making the device are also presented herein.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a method of identifying a unidentified substance, comprising directing light from a light emitting source directly upon a stationary unidentified substance; collecting fluorescence from the unidentified substance in a detector; wherein the detector comprises a lock-in detection system; analyzing the fluorescence; and identifying the unidentified substance. Disclosed herein is a detection system comprising a light emitting source; a circuit board; wherein the trigger is operative to trigger a pulse of electrons from the circuit board to the light emitting source; a detector; and a central processing unit, wherein fluorescence generated from an unknown unidentified substance that is illuminated by light from the light emitting source is collected in the detector and analyzed in the central processing unit.

摘要: An application asynchronously flattens a graph in a relational store to provide fast access to node relationship queries. The application may implement an algorithm that retrieves forward paths of a start node. The algorithm may also retrieve reverse paths of end node. The application may cross-join the forward and reverse paths to determine link paths connecting the start and end nodes. The application may merge the link paths with existing paths. The application may increment path reference counts. The application may store the link paths as a link between the nodes to represent a relationship between the nodes.

摘要: Computer-readable media, systems, and methods for encrypting communications between a client and an online service provider to ensure the communications are secure. In embodiments an authentication request is received from a user agent associated with the client and the authentication request includes identification information and authentication information. Additionally, it is determined that the identification and authentication information are associated with a user. An authentication ticket is created that includes a user identification and an authentication and indicates to the online service provider that the user is authenticated to access one or more services. Further, a session key is generated and an encrypted session key is embedded into the authentication ticket. The session key is encrypted and the private key is known only to the online service provider and the public key is known at least by an authentication server.

摘要: A photo ionization detector (PID) is provided for selectively determining various compounds or gases present in a breath sample. The PID, comprises a substrate comprising a gas ionization chamber, at least one pair of ion sensing electrodes, and at least one amplifying circuit; and an ultraviolet (UV) ionization source to transmit a UV light beam into the gas ionization chamber. A system comprises the PID is also provided. A method of detecting a response pattern for various compounds or gases in breath using PID is also provided.

摘要: Single leader provisioning is enabled through a locking mechanism in a directory service environment. A service running in a domain is enabled to take leader role by writing to a shared file maintained at a relative identity (RID) master server. The service taking the leader role is further enabled to extend its role by rewriting to the shared file periodically. Other services may check the file also periodically and remain passive as long as a service has currently the leader role. If the leader service is down and fails to extend its role, another service can take over by writing to the shared file ensuring a single leader in the provisioning service.

摘要: A method and system of multimedia service performance monitoring is provided. The method comprises the following steps: (a) a reference point acquires and stores the association relationship between multimedia packet identification number and the corresponding multimedia information; (b) a sample point orders the received packets according to the multimedia packet identification numbers, detects the integrality of the packets, and feeds the identification numbers of the lost multimedia packets back to the reference point if there are lost packets; (c) the reference point obtains the corresponding multimedia information according to the identification numbers of the lost multimedia packets returned by the sample point and the stored association relationship between the multimedia packet identification number and the corresponding multimedia information, and then evaluates the multimedia service quality of the sample point. The method and system of multimedia according to the present invention is beneficial to digital copyright management, avoids the extra process of decoding multimedia in the server, and is beneficial to monitor the multimedia service performance for a plurality of receiving ends at the server.

摘要: A federated realm discovery system within a federation determines a “home” realm associated with a portion of the user's credentials before the user's secret information (such as a password) is passed to a non-home realm. A login user interface accepts a user identifier and, based on the user identifier, can use various methods to identify an account authority service within the federation that can authenticate the user. In one method, a realm list of the user device can be used to direct the login to the appropriate home realm of the user. In another method, an account authority service in a non-home realm can look up the user's home realm and provide realm information directing the user device to login at the home realm.
