Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus for encoding, decoding or transcoding digital video are described. One example method of video processing includes performing a conversion between a video and a bitstream of the video including multiple layers, wherein the bitstream includes a plurality of supplemental enhancement information, SEI, messages associated with an access unit, AU, or a decoding unit, DU, of a particular output layer set, OLS, or a particular layer, wherein the plurality of SEI messages, including a message type different from scalable nesting type, is based on a format rule, and wherein the format rule specifies that each of the plurality of SEI messages has a same SEI payload content due to the plurality of SEI messages being associated with the AU or the DU of the particular OLS or the particular layer.

Abstract: Several techniques for video encoding and video decoding are described. One example method includes performing a conversion between a block of a video and a bitstream of the video according to a rule. The rule specifies that whether a syntax flag indicating whether transform skip residual coding is enabled at a video unit level is present in the bitstream is based on values of a first syntax element indicating usage of sign data hiding in the video unit and a second syntax element indicating usage of dependent quantization in the video unit.

A value of an annotated region (AR) object label index of an i-th AR object index (ar_object_label_idx[ar_object_idx[i]]) syntax element is determined. The ar_object_label_idx[ar_object_idx[i]] syntax element is specified to be in a range of N to M, where N and M are integers and N is less than M. A conversion is performed between a visual media data and a bitstream based on the ar_object_label_idx[ar_object_idx[i]] syntax element.

One example video processing method includes performing a conversion between a video including a video block and a bitstream of the video according to a rule, wherein the rule specifies whether to include, in a slice header (SH), a first syntax element that indicates whether a transform skip based residual coding is disabled for a slice, and wherein the rule specifies that whether to include the first syntax element in the SH is selectively based on a second syntax element in a sequence parameter set (SPS) that indicates whether a TS mode is enabled for the video block.

Abstract: A method implemented by a video coding apparatus. The method includes determining that a multiview acquisition information (MAI) supplemental enhancement information (SEI) message is present in a first access unit (AU) of a coded video sequence (CVS) whenever any MAI SEI message is present in any AU of the CVS; and performing a conversion between a video and a bitstream of the video based on the MAI SEI message. A corresponding video coding apparatus and non-transitory computer readable medium are also disclosed.
