摘要: The present invention is a directed to a CT detector for a CT imaging system that incorporates a segmented optical coupler between a photodiode array and a scintillator array. The segmented optical coupler also operates as a light collimator which improves the light collection efficiency of the photodiode array. The segmented optical coupler is defined by a series of reflector elements that collectively form a plurality of open cells. The open cells form light transmission cavities and facilitate the collimation of light from a scintillator to a photodiode. The cavities may be filled with optical epoxy for sealing to the photodiode array.

摘要: A photodiode detector assembly for use with an ionizing radiation detector, the assembly includes a first layer having a first side and a second side and an array of backlit photodiodes disposed at the second side, and a second layer disposed proximate to and opposing the second side of the first layer. The second layer includes thru vias. Light rays entering the first layer at the first side and impinging the backlit photodiodes at the second side result in electrical signals at the thru vias of the second layer, thereby providing electrical output signals from the backlit photodiodes at a distance from the backlit photodiodes.

摘要: A multi-layer reflector for a CT detector is disclosed. The reflector includes an x-ray absorption component that is sandwiched between a pair of highly reflective components. Such a reflector is formed between adjacent scintillators of a CT detector so as to reduce cross-talk between adjacent scintillators as well as maintain a relatively high light output for signal detection. Moreover, the multi-layer reflectors may be disposed one-dimensionally or two-dimensionally across a scintillator array. A method of manufacturing such a reflector and incorporating same into a CT detector is also disclosed.

摘要: An interface between a merchandising machine which requires a voltage of a first magnitude for its operation and a coin mechanism which operates at a voltage of a second magnitude in which each selection of the machine is provided with a customer-operated double-pole switch, one pole of which is connected to the coin mechanism to complete the circuit of a relay through the second magnitude voltage source if a sum in money aggregating the purchase price of the article corresponding to the operated switch has been deposited. Completion of the relay circuit closes a switch to complete a circuit from the first magnitude voltage source to the selected unit operating element through the other pole of the operated double-pole switch.

摘要: An electrosurgical system includes an electrosurgical probe connected to a control console, wherein the probe is capable of coagulating and ablating tissue depending on a selected operating mode. Before operating the system, probe-specific data stored in a memory device associated with the probe is read by a processing device in the console. The data includes source impedance values specific to a coagulation or cutting mode of operation. A constant duty cycle value for a modulated cutting mode also is provided. Depending on the operating mode selected, an RF generator adjusted to have a predetermined source impedance value provides a voltage value to the probe. During the duty-cycled mode, the RF generator generates an instantaneous voltage value output for a duty cycle portion that is less than 100% of a time period, which value is no less than a maximum continuous average voltage value for the electrosurgical probe.

摘要: A laser device includes a plurality of lasers that includes a first laser and a second laser. The laser device further includes a drive circuit configured to apply a pulsed current to the first laser at a first phase. The drive circuit is further configured to apply the pulsed current to the second laser at a second phase. The first phase and the second phase are different. A total voltage provided to the plurality of lasers during a period between the first and second phases is substantially smaller than a sum of individual voltages provided to the plurality of lasers, respectively, during a pulse period of the pulsed current.
