Abstract:
A home relationship is established between a device and a network by storing an ownership record in the device that identifies the network, and storing in the network a device identifier that identifies the device. Thereafter, communication is established between the device and the network. The ownership record is then transmitted from the network to the device, and automatic access to the device is granted to the network once the device verifies the transmitted ownership record against the ownership record stored in the device. In addition, the device identifier is transmitted from the device to the network, and automatic access to the network is granted to the device once the network verifies the transmitted device identifier against the device identifier stored in the network.
Abstract:
A window for a radiation detection system includes a plurality of intersecting ribs oriented non-perpendicularly with respect to each other. The plurality of intersecting ribs defines non-rectangular openings therebetween. A support frame is disposed around a perimeter of the plurality of intersecting ribs. A film is disposed over and spans the openings to pass radiation therethrough. The film and the plurality of intersecting ribs are integrally formed from a same material including a polymer.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for managing categorized images in a digital camera is provided. In one aspect, a method includes, storing images on a storage media in the digital imaging device, where each image includes at least one tag corresponding to a category for categorizing the images. A category list is generated that includes the categories corresponding to the tags in the images and the category list is stored on the storage media. The category list identifies, for each category, which of the stored images have the tag corresponding to the category. A category within the category list is designated as a default category. The method further includes accessing the image category list in order to display the images, wherein only the identified images of the default category are displayed, thereby speeding access to, and display of, the images.

Abstract:
A high strength window for a radiation detection system has a plurality of ribs comprising diamond material. The plurality of ribs defines a grid having openings therein. The tops of the ribs terminate generally in a common plane and the height of the ribs is sufficiently thin to allow some radiation to pass directly through the diamond material of the ribs. The high strength window also has a support frame around a perimeter of the grid. A layer of thin polymer film material is disposed over and spans the plurality of ribs and openings to pass radiation therethrough. A radiation detection system comprises a high strength window as described above and a sensor behind the window. The sensor is configured to detect radiation that passes thought the window.
Abstract:
A method and system for providing instant review of a last image in an image capture device is disclosed. The image capture device includes a viewfinder for displaying a live image and each image of a plurality of previously captured images. The method and system include selecting instant review of the last image captured by the image capture device, determining the status and location of the last image, and providing the last image to the viewfinder for display. Therefore, the image capture device is capable of displaying the last image substantially immediately after the last image has been captured. In another aspect, the image capture device contains an image processing system. In this aspect, the method and system include allowing a user to access a play mode and a review mode while the last image captured undergoes processing by the image processing system.
Abstract:
A method and system for merging metadata with digital images is disclosed, where the digital images are stored as image files having metadata fields associated therewith. The method and system include receiving data uploaded from a remote location, providing a web application to a client device over a network when requested, and transmitting the previously uploaded data to the web application. When an image requires input of metadata on the client device, the uploaded data is displayed on the client device for selection by the user. In response to the user's selection, the selected data is then used to automatically populate the metadata fields associated with the image file.
Abstract:
The present invention comprises a method and system for implementing internet access to images stored in a digital image capture unit including an imaging device and a display. The image capture unit (e.g., a digital camera) is used to capture images and store them within its internal memory. The image capture unit accesses a ID server via the internet and registers its identity and internet address with the web server. A user subsequently accesses the image capture unit by entering the identity of the image capture unit into his web browser. The web browser, using standard internet protocols, then queries the ID server with the identity of the image capture unit and retrieves the internet address. The internet address is subsequently used to access a web page hosted by the image capture unit and display the web page to the user. The web page provides access to the stored images within the image capture unit.
Abstract:
A method and system for viewing images from an image capture device on a host computer. The method and system include establishing communication between the image capture device and the host computer, and mounting the image capture device as a disk on the host computer. The method and system further include automatically generating an Internet page description file in the image capture device that references the images stored therein, and accessing the Internet page description file through a standard web browser on the host computer. The user may then view the images stored in image capture device on the host computer through the web browser.
Abstract:
A method and system for providing a user with an album including a plurality of pages is disclosed. The method and system include allowing a user to purchase at least a portion of the album and allowing the user to set a plurality of defaults for the plurality of pages. The at least the portion of the album includes a portion of the plurality of pages. At least one default of the plurality of plurality of defaults is capable of being altered using information provided by the user. The method and system also include receiving from the user the information, if any, and receiving a plurality of images captured using a digital imaging device. The method and system also include altering the at least one default if the user has provided the information. The method and system also include providing a portion of the plurality of pages using the plurality of defaults and allowing the user access to the portion of the album.
