The recording medium conveyance failure occurrence predicting apparatus includes a recording medium abnormal separation detecting unit that detects an abnormal separation of the recording medium from the recording medium conveyance member, and a determining unit that predicts an occurrence of a conveyance failure of the recording medium in the separation portion based on a detection result of the recording medium abnormal separation detecting unit.

摘要： A document reading apparatus comprises a light source part for generating a light beam which scans a document being transported to a reading position along a main scan line by a predetermined scan width, a photoconductive part for supplying a signal outputted when illuminated by a light beam from the light source part, the photoconductive part having a plurality of photoconductive elements aligned within a predetermined width parallel to the main scan line, an optical part for focusing a light beam reflected from the document at the reading position into a reduced light beam and for irradiating the reduced light beam to the photoconductive part by an optical width in a direction parallel to the main scan line. The photoconductive elements extend in a direction parallel to the main scan line by a width difference by which the predetermined width of the photoconductive elements is greater than the optical width of the optical part. The photoconductive elements are divided into an image reading group arranged to read image information and a detection group arranged to detect a document and/or a front edge or rear edge of the document.

摘要： A disclosed image forming apparatus is capable of solving the problems of deterioration of a foam application function and driving systems caused by the dried and fixed foam remaining without being applied. The image forming apparatus includes a foam forming section forming foam, a reservoir section supplying foam formed by the foam forming section to an application roller, a discharge channel through which extra foam is collected from the reservoir section, and a heating unit for heating the extra foam to return the extra foam to a liquid form. The discharged liquid prepared by defoaming the foam discharged through the discharge channel is returned to a container containing the defoamed liquid.

摘要： Grafting a scion on a stock is effected by opening a chuck and inserting bar-like members in a storage chamber successively into the chuck with the front end of such bar-like members protruding out of a front end hole 5D, 105D, closing the chuck 4, 104 to thereby hold the bar-like member 2, inserting the front end of the protruding bar-like member 2 into a graft joint end of the stock, separating the grafting device from the bar-like member, and inserting the other end of the bar-like member into a graft joint end of the scion so as to abut the graft joint ends of the stock and scion against each other. The bar-like member can be simply and rapidly inserted into the stock, so that abutment between the stock and scion can be effected with extreme ease.
