摘要: When a sheet processing device is in operation, if any of a paper jam, a motor error, and an open door occur, a sheet-processing-device control unit stops all the loads of the sheet processing device other than the entrance motor. After that, the sheet-processing-device control unit determines whether an entrance sensor detects a sheet remaining in a sheet discharging path. If no sheet is detected, the entrance motor stops in the same manner as the other loads stop. If the entrance sensor detects a sheet, the entrance motor continues driving. When the number of steps of the entrance motor that continues driving increases to a number equal to or more than a predetermined number that corresponds to a sheet position that is accessible by a user from a discharge tray, the entrance motor stops.

摘要: In a first information processing device, a specific part of a binary code of a first application program developed in a first memory and a specific function are used to calculate a first identification value. The first identification value is transmitted from the first information processing device to a second information processing device. In the second information processing device, a specific part of a binary code of a second application program developed in a second memory and a specific function are used to calculate a second identification value, and the first identification value received from the first information processing device is compared with the second identification value. If these identification values are identical, connection with the first information processing device is permitted in the second information processing device.

摘要: In an image processing device, image data is divided into a plurality of band data including first and second band data. The first band data and the second band data have an overlap region, from which the first and second regions are extracted, respectively. The first region and the second region at least partially overlap with each other in the overlap region and have attributes different from each other, and the respective feature amounts are calculated. Based on these feature amounts, an attribute to be used for correction is decided. Then, an attribute different from the decided attribute between the attribute of the first region and the attribute of the second region is changed to the decided attribute.

摘要: Provided are a multi-beam scanning optical system capable of implementing high-quality printing in relatively simple structure and at high speed, and an image forming apparatus using it. The multi-beam scanning optical system has an incidence optical unit for guiding a plurality of beams emitted from a light source unit having a plurality of light-emitting regions spaced apart from each other in a main scanning direction, to a deflector; a scanning optical unit for focusing the plurality of beams deflected by the deflector, on a surface to be scanned; and a synchronism-detecting optical unit for converging part of the plurality of beams deflected by the deflector, via a return mirror on a slit surface by a lens section, thereafter guiding the beams to a synchronism detector, and controlling timing of a scan start position on the surface to be scanned, by use of a signal from the synchronism detector. The elements are set so as to satisfy Condition (A) where &dgr;M is a defocus amount in a main scanning section of the beams guided to the synchronism detector and in a view from the slit surface and &dgr;X is a defocus amount at each image height on the surface to be scanned.

摘要: Telephone apparatus in which a call may be made in response to utterances of a user by speech recognition without manually dialing a telephone number. The telephone apparatus includes a storage device for storing a set of parameters corresponding to an expected speech signal, which are used for recognizing the user's subsequent utterance and/or for indicating differences between the utterance and the stored signal. The telephone apparatus further includes a storage device for storing the speech signal so that the stored speech signal can be reproduced. The reproduced speech signal is used to confirm the stored speech signal. The stored speech signal may be reproduced in response to a user's key operation when the telephone apparatus is in a confirmation mode and in response to a user's utterance when the telephone apparatus is in a registration or voice calling mode.

摘要: In the invention, for a first sheet, regardless of the sheet size (width), a lateral registration detector is moved in a direction towards an edge face of the sheet from a home position to detect the edge face of the sheet. With lateral deviation in the sheet position corrected, punching is performed by a puncher. For the second and subsequent sheets, the lateral registration detector is moved in advance to near the edge face of the sheet with reference to the detected position of the sheet edge of the first sheet, and the edge face is detected at a given timing. With lateral deviation in the sheet position corrected, punching is performed by the puncher.

摘要: A mobile device includes a first housing, a second housing, a bias member, a first stopper and a second stopper. The second housing is slidably coupled to the first housing in a sliding range. The bias member biases the second housing from a middle position of the sliding range to one end of the sliding range. The first stopper is provided on the first housing, is connected to a ground of the first housing, and has electrical conductivity. The second stopper is provided on the second housing, has electrical conductivity, and comes into contact with the first stopper to define the one end of the sliding range.
