摘要: The number of instruction processors to be independently allocated to each supervisor is limited to a level at which the performance of the tightly coupled multiprocessor system is not deteriorated. A plurality of independent tightly coupled multiprocessor systems comprising these supervisors and a plurality of instruction processors are provided to improve their processing capacity. Since the existence of a plurality of supervisors complicates the management of these supervisors, a supervisor for a total managing service to which separate instruction processors are independently allocated is provided. This supervisor for a total managing service executes initialization and termination of the supervisors and monitoring of a fault, to thereby integrally manage the plurality of supervisors and the on-line control programs under their control. The supervisor manages the resources such as the main storage, the instruction processor and the input/output processors to utilize or manage the CPU's through the management terminals. The supervisor for total managing service, or operation supervisor, manages the status or faults of the supervisor and on-line control programs and provides change-over commands for the on-line control programs.

摘要: A seek control system in a disk system, in which the object measured is a mechanism including a voice coil motor which positions a head, and in which the temperature of the voice coil motor is detected and seek operations are controlled based on the thus detected temperature, includes a unit for determining the amount of heat causing the temperature rise of the object under measurement as the square of a voice coil motor current command value multiplied by predetermined coefficients; a unit for integrating the result obtained by subtracting the amount of naturally radiated heat from the amount of heat including the amount of heat causing the thus determined temperature rise, to determine the amount of heat in the object; and a unit for detecting the temperature of the object in accordance with the thus determined amount of heat in the object. Preferably, a calculation concerning the ratio of the amount of heat in the object to the thermal capacity of the object is performed to detect the temperature of the object under measurement.

摘要: An image forming apparatus capable of incorporating a DF, an ADF or an RDF includes a digitizer for designating at least one area of an original, an image forming unit for forming an original image of the designated area on a transfer sheet, and a control section for adding a specific image to the designated area. The control section also allows a multi-copy or a two-sided copy operation for a plurality of designated areas with different colors. The apparatus also includes a memory, the area designation data of which is retained whether reset by a reset key or upon a power ON operation. In this case, only the designated areas are reset. The apparatus further includes a middle tray and a second sheet feeder, which are selectively used according to the types of sheets.

摘要: This invention relates to light measuring devices, and, more particularly, to light measure devices for a circuit receiving reflected light from an object being photographed with flash illumination. The invention is to obtain an alternating current component (the flash illumination) alone or a mixture of the alternating current component and a fraction of a direct current component (ambient light) as the output of the light measuring circuit only by arranging a feedback circuit having a prescribed gain for low frequencies in the feedback network of the light measuring circuit, the fraction being adjustable by varying the prescribed gain.

摘要: A linear scale features a removable scale channel and adjustable head assembly for easy, accurate, permanent positioning on a machine tool bed or other mobile device. The scale channel, and a matching positioning tool, has balls at opposite ends engaging a socketed mounting bracket. When in use, the flexible socket coupling is clamped into immobility by removable covers over open faces of the mounting brackets. During installation, the mounting brackets engage the positioning tool rather than the scale channel and with the flexible-socket couplings free to gimbal. The mounting brackets are fixed to the machine tool at a fixed axial spacing determined by the length of the positioning tool but at whatever angular attitude best suits the supporting surface of the machine tool. The positioning tool is then removed and replaced by the scale channel. The head assembly is fixed to a stationary stand opposite the scale channel. An adjustable mechanism allows the sliding head of the head assembly to move perpendicular to the axial direction relative to a base fixed to the stand.

摘要: A flash device for a photographic camera is arranged either to inhibit a flashing action or to shift the control mode of the camera from flash photography to daylight photography in cases where an object to be photographed is located outside of the adequately operatable range of distance. A pre-flashing action is performed to detect a distance to the object when a main capacitor is charged to a given level before the capacitor is amply charged for flash photography. Then flash photographing is performed at an aperture value determined on the basis of the detected distance when the distance is within the adequately operatable distance range. In the case where the detected distance is outside of the adequately operatable distance range, the main capacitor is further charged for an increased flashing power. After that, a distance to the object is again detected by a second pre-flashing action before the flash photographing is carried out at an aperture value determined on the basis of the distance detected by the second pre-flashing action. The flash photographing arrangement thus permits seizing a shutter chance in flash photographing an object located at relatively short distance without waiting until the main capacitor is amply charged.

摘要: A display device in the finder of a camera has a plurality of digits of light-emitting elements for displaying exposure information on the side of a frame of field of view of the finder. The light-emitting element of the nearest one of the digits to the frame of field of view is made brightest, and, as the distance from the frame increases, the brightness of the light-emitting element of each digit is made lower. Therefore, the apparent brightnesses of all the light-emitting elements become almost equal to one another, permitting the observer to read the displayed information with ease and clearness.
