Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for a WTRU to operate using multiple schedulers. The WTRU may exchange data with the network over more than one data path, such that each data path may use a radio interface connected to a different network node and each node may be associated with an independent scheduler. For example, a WTRU may establish a RRC connection between the WTRU and a network. The RRC connection may establish a first radio interface between the WTRU and a first serving site of the network and a second radio interface between the WTRU and a second serving site of the network. The RRC connection may be established between the WTRU and the MeNB and a control function may be established between the WTRU and the SCeNB. The WTRU may receive data from the network over the first radio interface or the second radio interface.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for sending uplink control information by a multi-mode wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) capable of operating on multiple component carriers of a plurality of radio access technologies (RATs) for multi-RAT operation are disclosed. The WTRU may generate uplink control information (UCI) pertaining to a first RAT and a second RAT, wherein the UCI may include a first plurality of hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgements (HARQ-ACKs) pertaining to a plurality of downlink (DL) transmissions of the first RAT and a second plurality of HARQ-ACKs pertaining to a plurality of DL transmissions of the second RAT. The WTRU may multiplex at least part of the generated UCI pertaining to the first RAT and at least part of the generated UCI pertaining to the second RAT onto a physical channel on a component carrier of the second RAT.

A method for maintaining an allowed multicarrier uplink (UL) random access channel (RACH) configuration set by adding an UL carrier to the allowed RACH configuration set provided that a triggering event occurs and performing a random access (RA) procedure using the allowed RACH configuration set. A method for sending data in multicarrier wireless communications by determining a set of available UL carriers and selecting an UL carrier from the set of available UL carriers.

Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive one or more physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmissions and each PDSCH transmission may be associated with downlink control information (DCI) and a group of PDSCH transmissions. Further, the WTRU may determine a first group or a second group based on an indication received in DCI associated with at least one of the PDSCH transmissions. Then, the WTRU may generate hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ)-acknowledgment (ACK) feedback for data received in one or more PDSCH transmissions associated with the determined group. Moreover, the WTRU may transmit the HARQ-ACK feedback. In an example, the DCI which includes the indication may schedule a plurality of PDSCH transmissions included in the determined group. In another example, the DCI which includes the indication may further include a first codepoint mapped to the first group or a second codepoint mapped to the second group.

The WTRU may receive, from a cellular network based on the registration message and location information of the WTRU, a higher layer signal with information including availability of a local service in a local area of the cellular network and a tracking area. Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) to perform a multi-radio access technology (RAT) access (MRA) operation. The apparatus may include a WTRU comprising a transceiver and a processor configured to send a non-access stratum (NAS) access request message to a network node using a first radio access technology (RAT). The message may indicate that the WTRU can connect to both a network node using the first RAT and a network node using a second RAT. The transceiver may be configured to receive a NAS accept message and a message comprising configuration information for the second RAT. The transceiver and the processor may be further configured to connect to a network node using the second RAT based on the received configuration information and communicate with both the network node using the first RAT and the network node using the second RAT.

Abstract: Current wireless networks do not allow machine type communication (MTC) devices to have long discontinuous reception (DRX) cycles or sleep lengths. A long DRX cycle may allow MTC systems and devices to operate with much longer DRX/Sleep cycles/periods. This may facilitate the MTC operations for infrequent system access or infrequent system reaching (e.g. paged once in a week) with no or low mobility and may allow MTC devices to sleep for a long time with low power consumption.

Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive a plurality of transport blocks over a plurality of configured carriers. The WTRU may generate hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ)-acknowledgment (ACK) feedback for the plurality of transport blocks, channel state information (CSI) feedback for at least one of the plurality of configured carriers, and a cyclic redundancy check (CRC). Further, the WTRU may generate a feedback message that includes a number of HARQ-ACK feedback bits for the HARQ-ACK feedback, a number of CSI feedback bits for the CSI feedback, and a number of CRC bits for the CRC. The WTRU may then determine a power to be used for a Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) transmission based on the number of HARQ-ACK feedback bits, the number of CSI feedback bits, and the number of CRC bits. Moreover, the WTRU may transmit the feedback message in the PUCCH transmission at the determined power.
