摘要: In the present optical switching device, a reference light of a wavelength same as or in the vicinity of a wavelength of a signal light, is given from a wavelength-variable light source via each output side optical circulator to each pertinent output light path, and is propagated through each of the output light paths in a direction inverse to a propagation direction of the signal light, and passes through each optical amplifier to be sent to an optical switch module. Then, the power of the reference light which is led to each input side optical circulator from each input light path in accordance with the optical route setting by the optical switch module, is monitored by a reference light power monitor, and loss data is acquired by a control circuit using the monitoring result, so that the optical switch module is controlled in accordance with a control parameter corrected based on the loss data. Thus, it becomes possible to grasp accurately a loss characteristic of the optical switch module to perform the setting and switching of optical routes, and also, to compensate for a loss in the optical switch module while suppressing the waveform degradation of an output signal light to the minimum.

摘要: An apparatus and method generating an optical pulse of picosecond class (having a high duty ratio), which accurately and stably operates at an arbitrary repetition frequency, has a high OSNR, and is not restricted by an RF modulation frequency, are provided. New modulation spectrum components are generated by performing phase modulation for light output from a single wavelength laser light source with an optical phase modulator. The phases of the modulation spectrum components are aligned by a phase adjuster, so that a pulse wave in a time domain is generated.

摘要: A pulse sequence is configured by making a pulse waveform output from a pulse light source into a super Gaussian pulse of the third order or higher, and input to a spectrum expanding device. The spectrum expanding device broadens the spectrum of the pulse sequence with a nonlinear medium. A modulator array extracts longitudinal mode components from the expanded spectrum, and modulates the extracted longitudinal mode components with modulation data. Lastly, the modulated longitudinal mode components are coupled and transmitted to a transmission line.

摘要: An optical communicating apparatus that is connected to another optical communicating apparatus by a two-core optical transmission path includes: a one-core optical transmission path that passes an optical signal transmitted from an optical transmitter/receiver performing one-core bilateral communication and an optical signal transmitted to the optical transmitter/receiver in an opposite direction; a transmitting unit that transmits the optical signal transmitted from the optical transmitter/receiver through the one-core optical transmission path, to the other optical communicating apparatus through a first core of the two-core optical transmission path; and a receiving unit that receives the optical signal transmitted from the other communicating apparatus through a second core of the two-core optical transmission path, and passes the received optical signal to the one-core optical transmission path.

Thus, it becomes possible to grasp accurately a loss characteristic of the optical switch module to perform the setting and switching of optical routes, and also, to compensate for a loss in the optical switch module while suppressing the waveform degradation of an output signal light to the minimum.

摘要: A capacitive load driving device applies a multi-level voltage to a capacitive load to drive the capacitive load. In the capacitive load driving device, a voltage control signal generator unit generates a voltage control signal. A voltage amplifier unit amplifies a voltage of the voltage control signal. A current amplifier unit amplifies a current of an output of the voltage amplifier unit to perform charging of the capacitive load. A falling control signal generator unit generates a falling pulse having a predetermined pulse width when a width of falling of the voltage control signal exceeds a predetermined value. A switching unit performs discharging of the capacitive load in response to the falling pulse received.

摘要: The present invention relates to an optical switch apparatus made to successively carry out the route switching with respect to frame signal light inputted through various paths while eliminating the dispersion of an output power value. In the optical switch apparatus, input side deflecting units are disposed in corresponding relation to a plurality of input ports and output side deflecting units are disposed in corresponding relation to a plurality of output ports. Each input side deflecting unit and each output side deflecting unit are constructed in a manner such that a plurality of optical deflecting elements made to deflect signal light in response to an electric field applied are arranged in a cascade fashion, and the optical deflecting element constituting the input side deflecting unit or the output side deflecting unit is made so as to variably adjust the level of signal light to be outputted from the output side deflecting unit to the output port.
