摘要: A method for manufacturing a molded detergent composition is provided. The method includes mixing a hydrated component and a hydratable component without heating to provide a mixture, molding the mixture to provide a molded detergent composition, and solidifying the molded detergent composition as a result of movement of the water of hydration from the hydrated component to the hydratable component to provide the molded detergent composition as a solid under conditions of room temperature and atmospheric pressure. The hydratable component includes water, if present at all, at a level of less than about 2 wt. % based on the weight of the hydratable component. The hydratable component is a component which successfully competes with the hydrated component for at least a portion of the water of hydration. Solidification of the mixture takes between about 1 minute and about 15 minutes.

摘要: A warewashing composition includes a cleaning agent having a detersive amount of a surfactant, an alkaline source in an amount effective to provide a use composition having a pH of at least about 8 when the use composition is measured at a solids concentration of about 0.5 wt %, and a corrosion inhibitor in an amount sufficient for reducing corrosion of glass when the warewashing composition is combined with water of dilution at a dilution ratio of at least about 20:1 water of dilution to detergent composition o form a use composition. The corrosion inhibitor includes a salt of calcium, magnesium, or a mixture of calcium and magnesium. The salt has a water solubility of less than about 0.5 wt % in water at about 20° C. and atmospheric pressure so that the salt precipitates to form a protective layer on a substrate in contact with the use composition.

摘要: A method for manufacturing a molded detergent composition is provided. The method includes a step of mixing a hydrated component and a hydratable component to provide a mixture, and molding the mixture to provide a molded detergent composition having a melting point greater than about 30° C. The hydrated component has a melting point below about 100° C. and includes a transhydration product of anhydrous material and water of hydration. The hydrated component is provided in a solid state during the step of mixing. The anhydrous material has a melting point greater than about 300° C. The hydratable component includes water, if present at all, at a level of less than about 2 wt. % based on the weight of the hydratable component. A molded detergent composition and a method for using the molded detergent composition are provided.

摘要: The present invention includes a method of reducing slippage between a mat having a flexible polymer back surface and a substrate surface contiguous to the back surface, the method comprising applying a liquid comprising an aqueous solution of poly(vinyl acetate) to the back surface and contacting the back surface with the liquid thereon to the substrate surface while the aqueous solution is still wet. The method is especially effective where the mat comprises a flexible polymeric back surface comprising a flexible polymer selected from the group consisting of natural rubber, synthetic rubber, natural elastomers and synthetic elastomers. The contacting may be performed before the aqueous solution is completely dried. The aqueous solution may be applied directly to the back surface by spraying said aqueous solution onto said surface. The aqueous solution may be applied directly to the substrate surface. The aqueous solution may, for example, comprise from 1 to 90% by weight of the solution of poly(vinyl acetate) or 1 to 99% by weight of the solution as poly(vinyl acetate).

摘要: A UV cured floor finish can be removed from a floor by applying to the cured finish an inhomogeneous stripper composition containing at least one polar solvent, allowing the stripper composition to contact the finish for sufficient time to soften the finish, and removing the softened finish from the floor by mopping, vacuuming, mild abrasion or other measures that do not remove substantial portions of the floor. Preferably the polar solvent is denser than water and preferably the stripper composition has a diffusion rate through the cured finish greater than about 7×10−7 g/cm2/sec. Strippable-floor finish kits can be manufactured by combining a UV curable floor finish composition and an inhomogeneous stripper composition containing at least one polar solvent.

摘要: A sanitizing fabric sour composition can comprise a peracid material. The sanitizing sour materials of the invention can be used in a laundry process in which soiled garments are contacted with the sanitizing sour following an alkaline detergent in a cleaning step. In the souring step, the garments are contacted with the peracid material that both neutralizes alkaline components and sanitizes the cleaned garment. The fabric sour process of the invention can be conducted at reduced temperatures while obtaining sufficient sanitization.
