The terminal (3) has resilient curl portions (32, 32) of a generally mountain-like cross-sectional shape which are integrally formed respectively on opposite side edges of a base plate portion (31). A lance (5) is formed within the terminal receiving chamber (4), and two projections (23, 23) are formed integrally on the lance (5), and project in a direction of a width of the terminal receiving chamber (4) which direction is perpendicular to a direction (see P, in FIG. 7) of insertion of the terminal (3), and the two projections can be brought into sliding contact with apexes (41, 41) of the resilient curl portions (32, 32), respectively.

    摘要: A slider is mounted on a housing of one of male and female connectors to be fitted together, and is urged in one direction by a spring, and flexible arms and a lock arm are formed integrally with this slider. Second engagement projections, formed on a housing of the female connector, push the flexible arms, respectively, and are engaged respectively with the flexible arms when the two connectors are fitted together. A retaining projection for retaining the lock arm is formed on that housing. In a half-fitted condition, the second engagement projections are not engaged respectively with the flexible arms, and the female connector is pushed back by the spring, so that the half-fitted condition can be detected. The lock arm is engaged with the retaining projection, and also the flexible arms are engaged respectively with the second engagement projections, thereby preventing the two connectors from being accidentally disengaged from each other.

A terminal, if in incompletely-inserted position, is automatically moved to fully-inserted position to be checked for continuity.

    摘要: A conductive member is provided in a first connector together with a plurality of terminal fittings. The conductive member includes elastic arms associated with the respective terminal fittings. Each elastic arm is divided into a first conductive piece and a second conductive piece which are moved together. The first conductive piece is brought into contact with the terminal fitting when the first connector and the second connector are disengaged. The second conductive piece is away from the terminal fitting when the first connector and the second connector are disengaged. Insulative members are provided in the second connector so as to be associated with the respective elastic arms. Each insulative member includes a first insulative piece and a second insulative piece. The first insulative piece is inserted between the terminal fitting and the first conductive piece when the first connector and the second connector are engaged. The second insulative piece moves the second conductive piece in a direction away from the terminal fitting when the first connector and the second connector are engaged.

The short shot preventing rib 8 projects outside over the remaining portion 7 continuing from the thin sidewall portion 6. The short shot preventing rib 8 is arranged in a line with the horizontal partition 15. The short shot preventing rib 8 is formed thicker than the horizontal partition 15. And, the manufacturing method includes the steps of: setting a mold for molding a connector housing 1 which has a short shot preventing rib 8 on each of thin sidewall portions 6 formed on both side walls 5; arranging a gate of a runner 3 at a position corresponding to an outside wall of the connector housing; and injecting a melted resin material into the mold through the gate for forming the connector housing 1.
