    Abstract: Systems and techniques for handling a protocol data unit (PDU) session by a wireless device implementing an access stratum (AS) layer and a non-access stratum (NAS) layer in a wireless communication system. An example technique includes determining, by the AS layer of the wireless device, whether a user plane for the PDU session is activated or released; transferring, by the AS layer and to the NAS layer of the wireless device based on a determination that the user plane for the PDU session is activated, first information indicating that the user plane for the PDU session is activated; and transferring, by the AS layer and to the NAS layer of the wireless device based on a determination that the user plane for the PDU session is released, second information indicating that the user plane for the PDU session is released.

    Abstract: Provided is a tracking area assignment method by an access and mobility management function (AMF) in a wireless communication system. The method may include receiving, from a session management function (SMF), service and session continuity (SSC) mode indication information for a protocol data unit (PDU) session generated for a user equipment (UE), obtaining serving area information for a serving area of a serving user plane function (UPF) associated with the PDU session, determining the assignment of a new tracking area to the UE is necessary based on a tracking area pre-assigned to the UE and the serving area, and performing tracking area update for the assignment of the new tracking area to the UE if it is determined that the assignment of the new tracking area is necessary.

    Abstract: One disclosure of the present specification provides a method by which a network entity, which controls a control plane, determines whether to offload traffic of a user equipment (UE) to a wireless local area network (WLAN). The method can comprise a step of acquiring subscriber information on the UE from a subscriber information server, wherein the subscriber information can include a WLAN offloadability indication for a specific packet data network (PDN) connection. The method can comprise the steps of: determining WLAN offloadability for the specific PDN connection on the basis of the WLAN offloadability indication and configuration information; transmitting the WLAN offloadability indication to network nodes according to the determination; and transmitting the WLAN offloadability indication to the UE according to the determination.

    Abstract: One disclosure of the present invention provides a method for selecting an enhanced packet data gateway (ePDG). The method may be performed by a user equipment (UE) and comprise: determining, by the UE which has roamed from a home public land mobile network (H-PLMN) to a visited public land mobile network (V-PLMN), whether there exists an indication for selecting ePDG in the V-PLMN; determining, by the UE, whether the UE has attached to any PLMN in the V-PLMN, when it is determined that there exists the indication; determining, by the UE, whether there exists an ePDG PLMN list for the any PLMN in the V-PLMN, when it is determined that the UE has attached to the any PLMN; and selecting, by the UE, at least one ePDG in the ePDG PLMN list.
