Abstract: According to the present invention, an inter prediction method comprises the steps of: generating a merge candidate list for a block to be predicted, wherein the block is to correspond to a current prediction unit; deriving, on the basis of one of a plurality of merge candidates constituting the merge candidate list, motion information on the block to be predicted; and performing, on the basis of the derived motion information, a prediction on the block to be predicted so as to generate a prediction block corresponding to the current prediction unit.

According to the present invention, it is possible to effectively perform, through sample unit motion vectors, inter-prediction not only in a case where an image in the current block is plane-shifted but also in a case where there are various image distortions.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an inter-layer prediction method and to an apparatus implementing the method. The method may comprise the steps of generating a first block constituted by the value obtained by up-sampling the reconstruction value of a reference block of a reference layer corresponding to the current block; generating a second block constituted by a prediction value derived from intra-prediction mode of the current block; and generating a prediction block of the current block by combining sample values of the first block and the second block. Thus, intra-prediction on the current layer can be performed using the intra-prediction mode information of another layer.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for processing a video signal, which can increase the accuracy of the motion vector prediction through motion vector scaling which takes a difference in the temporal distance between reference pictures into consideration. To this end, the present invention provides a video signal processing method and a video signal processing apparatus using the same, and the method comprises the steps of: scaling at least one neighboring partition motion vector for a motion vector prediction of the current partition; scaling the neighboring partition motion vector, which has been selected, when the reference picture of the neighboring partition motion vector is different from the reference picture of the current partition; acquiring a motion vector prediction value of the current partition using the scaled motion vector; and acquiring a motion vector of the current partition using the motion vector prediction value.

Abstract: A block prediction method for decoding a picture, according to the present invention, comprises the steps of: deriving a reference block from a reference picture to predict a current block in a current picture; determining a reference illumination compensation (IC) parameter; generating an illumination-compensated reference block by applying reference IC to the reference block on the basis of the reference IC parameter; and generating a predicted sample of the current block on the basis of the illumination-compensated reference block. According to the present invention, an illumination difference between the current block of the current picture and the reference block of the reference picture can be compensated for, block prediction efficiency can be increased, and a data amount of a residual signal to be transmitted from an encoder to a decoder is reduced. Therefore, compression and coding efficiency can be increased.
