Abstract: A vehicular central monitoring system includes a forward-viewing camera, a plurality of non-vision sensors and an electronic control unit. A wireless communication device wirelessly communicates to a central server (i) vehicle data indicative of operation of the vehicle and (ii) environment data indicative of the environment in which the vehicle is traveling. The central server processes the wirelessly received vehicle data and environment data. Responsive to processing at the central server of the vehicle data and environment data received at the central server from the vehicle, the central server determines if the vehicle is at or approaching a hazardous condition. Responsive to the determination that the vehicle is at or approaching the hazardous condition, the vehicular central monitoring system (i) alerts a driver of the vehicle of the determined hazardous condition and/or (ii) controls a vehicle system of the vehicle to mitigate the determined hazardous condition.

Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a camera, a near-infrared light emitter operable to illuminate at least part of a region viewed by the camera, and an electronic control unit having an image processor. While the camera is capturing frames of image data at a first rate, the near-infrared light emitter is pulsed on/off at a second rate. The first rate is at least two times the second rate. First frames of image data are captured by the camera when the region is illuminated by light emitted by the near-infrared light emitter. The captured first frames of image data are processed at the ECU for a first vehicle function. Second frames of image data are captured by the camera when the region is not illuminated by light emitted by the near-infrared light emitter. The captured second frames of image data are processed at the ECU for a second vehicle function.

Abstract: A vehicular control system includes a forward sensing sensor and a forward viewing camera disposed at a vehicle. The forward sensing sensor has an antenna array that emits a radio frequency (RF) beam at least forward of the vehicle. The antenna array include at least four antennas. An electronic control unit (ECU) includes an image processor operable to process image data captured by the forward viewing camera. The system, responsive at least in part to processing by the image processor of image data captured by the forward viewing camera, determines a weather condition at the vehicle. The system adjusts the RF beam emitted by the antenna array of the forward sensing sensor based at least in part on the determined weather condition. The system may adjust transmission power of the RF beam and/or beam pattern of the RF beam based at least in part on the determined weather condition.

Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a camera having a field of view interior of a vehicle equipped with the vehicular vision system, a plurality of infrared light emitters operable to illuminate a region at least partially within the field of view of the camera, and an electronic control unit having an image processor that processes image data captured by the camera. The camera captures frames of image data at a first rate, and infrared light emitters of the plurality of infrared light emitters are pulsed at a second rate. The first rate is different than the second rate. For a driving assist function of the vehicle, capture of frames of image data by the camera at the first rate is synchronized with pulsing of the infrared light emitters of the plurality of infrared light emitters at the second rate.

Abstract: A communication system for vehicles includes a first communication device disposed at a first vehicle and a second communication device disposed at a second vehicle. The first communication device wirelessly transmits data indicative of a predicted path of travel of the first vehicle, and the second communication device receives the transmitted data from the first communication device. An ECU of the second vehicle processes data received from the first communication device and data indicative of a predicted path of travel of the second vehicle to determine a potential collision between the first vehicle and the second vehicle during a turning maneuver of the first vehicle toward the second vehicle. Responsive to determination of potential collision between the first vehicle and the second vehicle, the ECU controls braking and/or steering of the second vehicle.

Abstract: A vehicular control system includes a forward sensing sensor, a rearward sensing sensor and a forward viewing camera disposed at a vehicle. The forward and rearward sensing sensors each have an antenna array that emits a beam forward or rearward of the vehicle. An ECU includes an image processor operable to process image data captured by the camera. The ECU, responsive at least in part to processing by the image processor of image data captured by the camera, determines presence of snow and/or a driving condition at the vehicle. The ECU may adjust the beam emitted by the antenna array of the forward sensing sensor and/or the rearward sensing sensor responsive to determination of snow and/or the driving condition at the vehicle. The control may adjust power of the beam and/or a beam pattern of the beam responsive to determination of snow and/or the driving condition at the vehicle.

Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a forward viewing camera at a windshield of a vehicle and a plurality of color cameras, and includes a display device operable to display video images derived from image data captured by the color cameras. A processing unit includes a first processing chip that has an image processor for machine-vision processing of captured image data, and a second processing chip that receives vehicle data and receives image data captured by the color cameras. The first processing chip machine-vision processes image data captured by the cameras for object detection and classification of objects. The first processing chip controls operating parameters of the color cameras to enhance object detection based on machine-vision processing by the first processing chip of image data captured by the color cameras. The second processing chip controls operating parameters of the color cameras for display at the display device of video images.

Abstract: A vehicular parking assist system includes a rear backup camera and a control having an image processor that processes image data captured by the rear backup camera. The control, as the vehicle is driven forward into a parking slot and reliant on processing of image data by the rear backup camera, determines a parking slot marker at a side boundary of the parking slot at which the vehicle is being parked and determines orientation of the vehicle relative to the determined parking slot marker. As the vehicle is driven forward into the parking slot, and reliant on processing by the processor of image data captured by the rear backup camera, a display screen in the vehicle displays information representative of the determined orientation of the vehicle relative to the parking slot marker so the driver can gauge orientation of the vehicle in the parking slot.
