摘要: The present invention discloses an interferometer optical switch that can carry out switching over a broad band and has a high extinction ratio and large fabrication tolerance. The interferometer optical switch employs a phase generating coupler, the phase difference of the output of which has wavelength dependence, as at least one of the optical multi/demultiplexing device included in the interferometer optical switch. A wavelength insensitive interferometer optical switch is implemented by making the sum 2π{φ1(λ)+φΔL(λ)+φ2(λ)} constant regardless of the wavelength, where φ1(λ) is the phase produced by the first optical multi/demultiplexing device, 2πφΔL(λ) is the phase difference of the optical delay line with an optical path length difference of ΔL, and 2πφ2(λ) is the phase produced by the second optical multi/demultiplexing device.

摘要: A battery-powered light source device 5 has an DC/DC converter 61 that boosts the supply voltage of a battery 51 and supplies electrical power to a lamp 31, and, inside this DC/DC converter 61, are provided a comparator 65 that compares a specific reference voltage to the output voltage of a DC/DC converter 61, and a control component 66 that keeps the output voltage from the DC/DC converter 61 at a specific lamp voltage on the basis of the comparison result of this comparator 65, whereby the supply voltage of the battery 51 is boosted and the optimal lamp voltage is obtained. Consequently, the battery-powered light source device 5 allows the brightness of the lamp to be adjusted and a high step-up efficiency to be obtained, and the battery can therefore be used more efficiently, and a more convenient use of the endoscope is possible.

摘要: A liquid droplet flight device is provided that moves an ink or the like using a comparatively low voltage and stably causes flight of even a high viscosity ink or the like. When causing droplets of a liquid inside a liquid retaining section to fly onto a medium transported between liquid droplet discharge means and an opposing electrode in the liquid droplet flight device, a high voltage is applied to the flight electrode from a bias power source to generate an electric field between the flight electrode and the opposing electrode. On/off control of flight control means is performed in this state to apply a drive voltage of a low voltage to an EW drive electrode from a drive power source such that the liquid inside a slit moves to a leading end portion of the flight electrode due to an electrowetting phenomenon, and the liquid that has moved to the leading end portion of the flight electrode flies toward the opposing electrode through the electric field such that a liquid droplet lands on the medium.

摘要: Disclosed are a semiconductor memory device, a semiconductor device, and a method for production thereof. The semiconductor memory device and semiconductor device do not need for a distance for alignment of lithography to make the contact hole with lithography to form the gate electrode. Hence the resulting devices have a reduced area for the cell array. The semiconductor memory device is composed of a substrate having trenches formed side by side, a plate electrode which is formed to a prescribed depth from the surface of the inner wall of the trench, a capacitor insulating film which covers the surface of the inner wall of the trench, a memory node electrode MN which fills the trench, with the capacitor insulating film interposed between them, and a memory node contact plug which is buried in a contact hole which is so made as to reach the memory node electrode from the surface of the semiconductor layer. A metallized region is integrally formed to connect at least part of the surface of the semiconductor layer and at least part of the surface of the contact plug to each other.
