Abstract:
An aquatic autosampler device for frequent collection of discrete samples of microorganisms at various locations and depths. The aquatic autosampler device moves a filter disk within a filter housing from a filter carousel into a filter housing holder. The filter housing holder, slidably mounted on a linear shuttle, moves the filter housing into a process position, where a syringe draws fluid in through a valve manifold and through the filter disk to collect samples on the filter disk. Reagents may then be passed over the filter disk to enable image-based identification and quantification of the cells on the filter disk. An imaging system on the autosampler may capture a fluorescent image of the microorganisms on the filter disk and store the image in a control computer. The filter housing may then be returned to the filter carousel for storage and further lab processing.
Abstract:
A rotatable bulb socket assembly comprising a non-conductive cylindrical base including a hollow top portion of smaller diameter than the bottom portion for receiving a base portion of a light bulb. Current carrying members on the top portion are separated by an annular insulator and include inwardly projecting tabs for contacting terminals of the light bulb. Electrically conductive brushes slidably engaging the current carrying members are connected to a power supply. A retaining element retains the current carrying members and the insulating element on the top portion of the base. Drive means are provided for rotating the base.
Abstract:
A vehicle attachment apparatus, including an elongated member removably connected to a hitch of a vehicle, an umbrella removably connected to the elongated member to provide shade for a user that is positioned under the umbrella, and a seat attachment removably connected to the elongated member to support the user seated thereupon.
Abstract:
An internal ball recirculation insert for a ball screw assembly. The ball screw assembly having a ball nut with at least one radial bore though it, a ball screw and load bearing balls. The ball screw and ball nut having complimental helical grooves, forming helical ball raceways when the ball screw and ball nut are assembled. The internal ball recirculation insert sized to fit into the radial bore of the ball nut, having a body portion, securing arms, a ball channel for channeling balls from one ball raceway to another and a friction or retention device around the circumference of the body portion. The friction device extending outwardly from a side wall of the recirculation insert, and contacting a wall of the radial bore in the ball nut.
Abstract:
A liftgate assembly for an automotive vehicle includes an outer panel having an external periphery and a skeletonized, trussform inner panel joined to the outer panel at their mutual external peripheries. A latch assembly is mounted within a latch cavity defined by a section of the trussform inner panel and a facing portion of the outer panel. At least one standoff structure is interposed between the outer panel and the inner panel at a location adjacent to the latch cavity so as to resist deformation of the outer panel and consequent reduction in size of the latch cavity in the event that an impact is imposed upon the outer panel at a location near the latch cavity.
Abstract:
A temporary checking device is provided that works in conjunction with elements of a vehicle hinge that remain in the vehicle's final configuration. The hinge includes a hinge pin rotatably connecting a door hinge bracket to a pillar hinge bracket. The checking device includes a spring portion that is disposed between the door hinge bracket and the pillar hinge bracket. The spring portion is compressed during movement of the door hinge bracket relative to the pillar hinge bracket from either of two rest positions. The spring portion urges the vehicle door affixed thereto back into one of the rest positions, thus allowing manufacturing operations such as painting, etc., to be performed on the vehicle.
Abstract:
A production method for obtaining a stacked device from a wafer is provided. The wafer has: a device forming region formed on a surface having plural devices formed thereon, the devices having surfaces and thicknesses; a peripheral extra region surrounding the device forming region; and plural metal electrodes embedded in the surfaces of the devices and having thicknesses which are equal to or larger than the thicknesses of the devices. The method includes: a protective tape applying process for applying a protective tape to the surface of the wafer; a rear surface recess forming process for thinning only a region, which corresponds to the device forming region, on a rear surface by grinding, thereby forming a recess on the rear surface, forming a ring-shaped protrusion projecting from the rear surface on the peripheral extra region, and exposing the metal electrodes at the rear surface; an etching process for removing mechanical damage, which is provided to the recess by the grinding, by etching to the recess, and forming a rear surface side electrode portion by projecting the exposed metal electrodes from a bottom surface of the recess; and a dividing process for dividing the wafer into the devices.
Abstract:
A passenger vehicle safety system is provided which comprises a violation system, a warning system or an inside system. The violation system collects evidence of traffic violation occurring in a vicinity of a passenger vehicle. The warning system provides a warning to individuals outside and in the vicinity of the passenger vehicle. The intra-vehicle system collects images of persons inside, or in the vicinity of, the passenger vehicle, so as to allow the passenger vehicle's driver or one or more individuals located at a remote location, some distance from the passenger, to monitor activity in and around the passenger vehicle. Information captured by the inside system can be viewed in real time, as the information is being collected, or some time later, or both.
Abstract:
A method and system of post-processing of sensing data generated by a medical device that includes transmitting a plurality of stored sensing data generated by the medical device to an access device, the stored sensing data including sensed atrial events and sensed ventricular events. The access device determines, in response to the transmitted data, instances where the medical device identified a cardiac event being detected in response to the sensing data, and determines whether there is an abrupt onset of the cardiac event in response to the transmitted data.
Abstract:
A mounting bracket is used for positioning an electronic device relative to a frame of a forklift truck. A base plate includes a pair of openings therethrough. Each of the pair of openings receives an electronic device therein. Each of the pair of openings includes an elongated recess extending from the opening of the base plate. The elongated recess permits the opening to be in communication with a region exterior to the base plate. A pair of hangers is connected to the base plate and each of the hangers is configured to engage with the forklift truck. A cover plate is configured to enclose each of the pair of the opening so as to protect the electronic device during operation of the forklift truck.
