摘要: An optical fiber connecting method not causing any damage to the optical fibers and enabling effective use of space and an optical fiber connection structure formed by the method. The optical fiber connection structure is for connecting optical fibers by means of a component for connecting optical fibers comprising two plugs for aligning at least two optical fibers and connecting them and an adapter for fixing the plugs. Each plug in which an optical fiber is inserted is attached to an adapter in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the optical fiber, and the plug and adapter are fixed. A modification may be made in which a latch member is provided to at least one of the plug and adapter, a latch engaging section is provided to the other, the latch member is engaged with the latch engaging section, and the plug and adapter are fixed. Another modification may be made in which a pair of plugs with ferrules and a ferrule aligning member are used, and the ends of the opposed ferrules are inside the ferrule aligning member.

摘要: A transmission device of the present invention comprises: an orthogonal modulator performing orthogonal modulation on a carrier wave using an input signal comprising an in-phase signal component and an orthogonal signal component, and outputs a modulation signal to be transmitted; a detection unit detecting a carrier leaking component included in the modulation signal; a DC offset value computing unit computing a DC offset value to be added to the input signal for compensating the carrier leaking component, based on the carrier leaking component; and an abnormality judgment unit judging abnormality of the orthogonal modulator based on the DC offset value. By monitoring the DC offset value, a failure of the orthogonal modulator or an indication thereof is detected, and transmission of an abnormal modulation signal including a distortion component is prevented. An increase of the leaking power to adjacent channels, which causes the quality deterioration in adjacent radio communication lines, can be prevented.

摘要: A solar battery module can be constituted without connecting a plurality of bypass diodes, increasing the volume of potting, or reducing the area of a solar battery cell, so that the problems such as an increase in size of a terminal box, an increase in fabrication cost or a drop in mass productivity are overcome. A terminal box constituting an output section of a solar battery module, includes: a box body housing a circuit constituting section constituted by terminal boards, a bypass diode, and the like; and a box cover having a double structure of an inner cover made of a metal material and an outer cover made of a weather-resistant resin. The box body has an open side opposite to its attachment face, and includes a portion housing a charging section of the circuit constituting section apart from an outer wall structure of the box body. The box body is formed to have a box structure made of a weather-resistant resin. The open side of the box structure is covered with the box cover.

摘要: A semi-transmission type liquid crystal display that maximizes the luminance in reflection mode and transmission mode. The liquid crystal display comprises a lower substrate with thin film transistors, an opposite substrate facing the lower substrate, a liquid crystal layer between the lower substrate and the opposite substrate, a reflection electrode formed in a reflection area of the lower substrate, a transparent electrode formed in a transparent area of the lower substrate, a common electrode formed on the opposite substrate, and a drive circuit for applying a voltage between the reflection electrode and the transparent electrode and the common electrode. The potential difference between a drive voltage applied to that surface of the lower substrate which contacts the liquid crystal layer and a drive voltage applied to that surface of the opposite substrate which contacts the liquid crystal layer is lower in the reflection area than in the transparent area.

摘要: The present invention provides a process for producing an optical connector, an apparatus for producing the same, and a process for forming a polymer coating film on an end face of a fibrous dielectric, which can dispose a refractive index adjuster only onto an end face of an optical transmitting medium with excellent reproducibility. Such a process includes bringing an end surface of the optical transmitting medium close to an end face of a liquid refractive index adjuster, while charging at least one of the optical transmitting medium and the liquid refractive index adjuster, thereby adhering the liquid refractive index adjuster to the end face of the optical transmitting medium, and thereafter solidifying the adhered liquid refractive index adjuster to obtain the refractive index adjuster.

摘要: An optical fiber connection component which is easy to adjust the distance between the optical fiber ends before connection, hardly damages the optical fiber during transportation or connection, and saves the number of parts and the cost, and a method for connecting optical fibers by using this component. The optical fiber connection component used for the optical fiber connection method consists of a connection member having one or more optical fiber through-holes provided with guides for rodlike coupling member at or near both side ends, rodlike coupling members, and a plug having through-holes for rodlike coupling members. The connection member is arranged in the plug slidably with the rodlike coupling member inserted in the plug. Two such optical fiber connection components are opposed to the optical fiber inserted in the through-hole to butt the through-holes of both the connection members against each other. Both the connection members are slid in the direction of the center axis of the optical fiber along the rodlike coupling member guided by the guide, so that the optical fibers are jointed in the through-hole of one connection member.

摘要: If a designation detector detects one of icons representing peripheral equipment (image forming apparatuses) displayed on a monitor screen by a display controller in response to operator's manipulation, an operation information acquirer acquires, from the respective peripheral equipment, operation information indicating a job status of the respective peripheral equipment represented by all the icons displayed on the monitor screen. If it is judged that the peripheral equipment represented by the icon whose designation has been detected by the designation detector is in a state of processing a job, the display controller changes the display format of the icon representing a peripheral equipment in an idling state.
