    Abstract: A method includes determining whether a downlink beam signal is being received from a base station (502); when the downlink beam signal is being received from the base station, determining whether a measurable property of the downlink beam signal does not meet a preselected threshold (504); when the downlink beam signal is not being received from the base station or when the measurable property of the downlink beam signal does not meet the preselected threshold, transmitting a message to the base station indicating that at least one uplink beam corresponding to the downlink beam has failed (506); and receiving a reply message from the base station with information required to determine a new uplink beam (508). An alternative method includes determining whether at least one uplink beam signal is being received from a user equipment (602); determining whether a measurable property of the at least one uplink beam signal does not meet a preselected threshold, when the at least one uplink beam signal is being received from the user equipment (604); and transmitting a message to the user equipment to initiate uplink beam recovery, when at least one uplink beam signal is not being received from the user equipment or when the measurable property of the at least one uplink beam signal does not meet the preselected threshold (606).

    Abstract: In accordance with an example embodiment, there is disclosed a method comprising: transmitting a first downlink channel via a primary beam within n slots, wherein n is a time between the transmission of an uplink control channel carrying HARQ information corresponding to the first downlink channel transmitted via the primary beam and a next time instance that a second downlink channel is configured be monitored from a secondary beam; receiving HARQ feedback within m slots calculated from a slot number configured to monitor the second downlink channel on at least one secondary beam, wherein m is time between a scheduled downlink channel and a next downlink channel monitoring instance via the secondary beam; and in response to receiving the HARQ feedback, ignoring a monitored downlink channel pattern and scheduling at least one user device using the primary beam on the slot number configured to monitor the second downlink channel on the at least one secondary beam.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to controlling a control resource set (CORESET) #0 puncturing. Some embodiments comprise determining, at a first apparatus, based at least on detection of a synchronization signal block, received from a second apparatus, on a specific frequency location, whether a CORESET of a specific type is punctured, wherein a portion of resources punctured in the CORESET of the specific type are incapable of carrying downlink control information; in accordance with a determination that the CORESET of the specific type is punctured, obtaining a CORESET puncturing pattern; and determining the portion of resources punctured in the CORESET at least based on the CORESET puncturing pattern. Furthermore, the method comprises indicating, from a second apparatus to a first apparatus, that a CORESET of a specific type is punctured by transmitting a synchronization signal block on a specific frequency location.

    Abstract: Techniques are provided for facilitating simultaneous uplink sounding reference signal transmissions from user equipment. In relation to a base station, a method includes causing transmission of configuration indication state (TCI-state) information to be provided to at least one user equipment (UE). The method may further include, based upon the determining, determining a third slot. The second TCI state is firstly to be applied in the third slot. The method may further include applying the second TCI state from the third slot onward.
