摘要： A thermal printer in which a sheet of recording paper is held by and between a thermal print head includes a plurality of heat generating elements and a platen drum, the amounts of heat of the heat generating elements are selectively changed, and an image is printed onto the recording paper. In the thermal printer, a printing position is set just behind a clamp position at which a clamp clamps the leading end of the recording paper onto the platen drum. Therefore, the image printing can be started immediately after the clamp position passes through the thermal head, with the recording paper being in part wound around the platen drum by the thermal printer. As a result, the time taken from paper feeding to printing starting can be reduced.

Thereby, the amount of the generated prediction error signals are reduced, and the picture quality is improved.

An auxiliary joint portion 69 is located between the first edge joint portion 67 and the second edge joint portion 68, and in the vicinity of the second edge joint portion 68. The auxiliary joint portion 69 joins the valve body portions 61 to each other. The auxiliary joint portion 69 also functions as a rigid portion 65, which is harder to flex than the flexible portion 64. The rigid portion 65 extends along the flowing direction of the inflation gas.

摘要： The airbag apparatus includes an airbag having an exhaust hole for discharging part of inflation gas, an open/close controller for controlling opening and closing operations of the exhaust hole, and a flap element releasably joined to the open/close controller and being joined to a periphery of the exhaust hole in an outer side of the airbag which periphery is in a side facing away from the open/close controller, for opening and closing the exhaust hole.
