Abstract:
A porous hollow fiber membrane is dipped into either a high concentration alkali solution or a high concentration solution of chromic acid and sulfuric acid, etched and then dipped into a palladium ion solution. The membrane is then dipped into a solution containing reducing and complexing agents as well as metallic ions, and subjected to an electroless treatment. In this way, a porous hollow fiber membrane, to which a metallic layer is chemically bonded, can be obtained. The porous hollow fiber membrane is provided in which the bond strength between the membrane and the metallic layer and the amount of metal to be coated are increased. Because of a large amount of metal, it is possible to render the membrane sufficiently electrically conductive.
Abstract:
A liquid crystal display panel including transparent electrode pairs confronting each other with liquid crystal substance disposed therebetween. At least one of each electrode pair is split into thin line electrode strips with color filters of several kinds of color being disposed thereon or on corresponding positions on the opposite electrode. The panel produces a display in an arbitrary color through the application of a certain combination of color signals between the electrodes selectively.
Abstract:
A gas discharge display apparatus comprises at least a number of anodes and cathodes each disposed in opposition to each of the anodes so that the anodes and the cathodes are arrayed alternately with each other. The anodes and the cathodes are wired, respectively, in polyphase connections. Discharge stabilizing resistors are connected in series to the polyphase connections leading to either the anodes or cathodes. Pulse voltages are successively applied to the anodes and the cathodes so that the discharge produced between both electrodes is caused to perform self-scanning, while the pulse voltages are applied to the polyphase connections leading to the anodes during a period determined in accordance with an input signal to be displayed, thereby to produce discharge between selected ones of anodes and cathodes determined in accordance with the input signal, said discharge being imparted with a memory effect. By controlling pulse duration of the pulse voltages applied during the period determined by the input signal, brightness of display element(s) selected in accordance with the input signal is controlled in a rather arbitrary manner.
Abstract:
A turbocharger includes a drive shaft to transmit a driving force of an actuator to a mechanism in the turbo housing, and a bush to rotatably support the drive shaft, wherein a seal is provided at an end portion on the open-air side of the bush. The seal includes a seal body made of resin and a metallic spring fitted into a recessed portion of the seal body, wherein an internal lip portion of the seal body is pressed by the elastic force of the spring to the outer circumferential surface of the drive shaft. Further, an end surface that is contactable with a member (drive link) disposed on the open-air side of the drive shaft is formed in the seal body. The seal having the above-described structure is provided at the end portion on the open-air side of the bush so as to achieve excellent sealability, so that this securely prevents exhaust gas in the turbo housing from passing through between the outer circumferential surface of the drive shaft and the inner circumferential surface of the bush and flowing out to the outside.
Abstract:
An object of the invention is to provide a technique for excellently controlling a supercharger equipped with an electric motor. A supercharging system for an internal combustion engine according to the present invention is provided with a supercharger equipped with an electric motor, where rotation of the rotary shaft of the supercharger is assisted by the electric motor, and control unit for controlling assisting force of said electric motor in such a way that the rotation speed of the supercharger becomes a target rotation speed. The control unit determines the target rotation speed of the supercharger based on any one of (1) the degree of opening of the accelerator, (2) the degree of opening of the accelerator and the rotation speed of the internal combustion engine, (3) the actual degree of opening of a throttle valve and the rotation speed of the internal combustion engine, and (4) the target degree of opening of the throttle valve and the rotation speed of the internal combustion engine, and controls the assisting force by the electric apparatus in such a way that the target rotation speed is attained.
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is providing a supercharging system which uses both of a mechanism such as VN or the like and an electric motor generating an assist force while making the supercharger operate smoothly when the assist by the electric motor is stopped. The system controls the electric motor in a feedback manner so that enough assist force is generated (FIG. 2A and FIG. 2B) while controlling the VN in an open manner (FIG. 2D) until status of the supercharger reaches target status (time t1) when an accelerator requirement arises in a low revolution region. The control of the electric motor is changed to an open control, and the control of the VN is changed to a feedback control, respectively, at time t1. The open control of the electric motor is continued so that necessary complement torque occurs until time t2. After time t2, the system maintains the target status only by the feedback control of the VN.
