摘要: A membrane includes a polysulfone-based support, a polydopamine (PDA) layer disposed on a surface of the polysulfone-based support, and a silver/polydopamine (Ag/PDA) composite layer disposed on a surface of the polydopamine layer. The polysulfone-based support has a pore size of up to 600 nanometers (nm). The Ag/PDA composite layer contains core-shell structure particles and spherical particles. The core-shell structure particles have a silver nanoparticle core and a polydopamine shell. The spherical particles are silver-decorated polydopamine particles. The membrane can at least partially separate an Erichrome Black T (EBT) dye from an EBT dye/salt containing mixture by rejecting the EBT dye and allowing the EBT dye/salt containing mixture to pass through the membrane.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for a fabrication of a pore comprising membrane and a pore comprising membrane. The pore comprising membrane (1) comprises at least a porous metallic layer (3) on a porous substrate (6), wherein the porous metallic layer (3) is connected to the porous substrate (6) and the pores (4) of the metallic layer (3) overlap at least partially with the pores (7) of the porous substrate (6). The method comprises at least the following steps: i) deposition of the metallic layer (3) onto a support material (2), wherein the deposited metallic layer (3) forms a plurality of feedthroughs, in particular a percolation network on the support material (2), ii) removal of the support material (2), iii) connecting of the metallic layer (3) with the porous substrate (6) such that pores (4) of the metallic layer (3) overlap at least partially with the pores (7) of the porous substrate (6).

摘要: A method for purifying dye-containing wastewater based on a porous-polymer-modified metal carbon nanotube membrane includes: (1) preparing the porous-polymer-modified metal carbon nanotube membrane; and (2) passing the dye-containing wastewater through the porous-polymer-modified metal carbon nanotube membrane to remove dyes in the dye-containing wastewater. A device for purifying dye-containing wastewater is also disclosed. The device includes the porous-polymer-based metal carbon nanotube membrane.

The membranes exhibit extended antimicrobial properties that prevents the buildup that causes biofouling, which in turn prolongs the life of the membranes. The membranes may be reverse osmosis membranes, microfiltration membranes, ultrafiltration membranes, nanofiltration membranes, or any other membrane suitable for liquid processes.

摘要: A composite nanoporous metal membrane, a method of making same, and a method of using same to filter supercritical CO2 are provided. The method of making generally includes a) providing a sintered coarse porous layer; b) applying to an outer face of the coarse porous layer second metal particles; c) sintering to form a structure comprising coarse and intermediate layers; d) applying a suspension of third metal particles; e) drying the suspension of third particles; f) pressing the dried layer of third particles; and g) sintering to form a composite nanoporous metal membrane. The composite nanoporous metal membrane generally includes: a) a sintered coarse layer; b) an intermediate layer comprising first metal particles and second metal particles joined in a sintered structure which is sintered to the coarse layer; and c) a fine layer comprising third metal particles joined in a sintered structure which is sintered to the intermediate layer.

摘要: A carbon molecular sieve (CMS) membrane having improved separation characteristics for separating olefins from their corresponding paraffins is comprised of carbon with at most trace amounts of sulfur and a group 13 metal. The CMS membrane may be made by pyrolyzing a precursor polymer devoid of sulfur in which the precursor polymer has had a group 13 metal incorporated into it, wherein the metal is in a reduced state. The pyrolyzing for the precursor having the group 13 metal incorporated into it is performed in a nonoxidizing atmosphere and at a heating rate and temperature such that the metal in a reduced state (e.g., covalently bonded to carbon or nitrogen or in the metal state).

摘要: An anti-microbial metal coating may be applied to filter membranes for use in actively depressing microbial viability in filtration applications. The anti-microbial metal coating may be applied to substrates that are considered to be sensitive to damage by conventional metal coating techniques or resistant to metal bonding. The coating may be applied from a salt absorbed to the substrate in solution, converted to a reducible form with a conversion agent, and reduced to active metal format through a low temperature plasma treatment.

摘要: Composition comprising at least one graphene material and at least one metal. The metal can be in the form of nano particles as well as microflakes, including single crystal microflakes. The metal can be intercalated in the graphene sheets. The composition has high conductivity and flexibility. The composition can be made by a one-pot synthesis in which a graphene material precursor is converted to the graphene material, and the metal precursor is converted to the metal. A reducing solvent or dispersant such as NMP can be used. Devices made from the composition include a pressure sensor which has high sensitivity. Two two-dimension materials can be combined to form a hybrid material.
