    Abstract: A network node of a communication network may determine that a target transmission power for a subsequent transmission by the network node is no longer optimal. In response to the determination, the network node may autonomously modify one or more parameters of the subsequent transmission, from a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) and/or a set resources for the subsequent transmission. The network node may then transmit a channel, based at least in part on the one or more modified parameters, to a target network node in the subsequent transmission. The target network node may determine that the network node has autonomously modified the one or more parameters of the transmission, from the modulation and coding scheme (MCS) and/or the set resources for the transmission. The target network node may process the transmission based on the determination.

    Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided in connection with D2D relay link selection in a LTE based access network. In one example, a communications device is equipped to determine that the communications device (e.g., a UE) is able to establish a relay link with a candidate UE based on at least one of information associated with any preexisting access links with the candidate UE, information associated with any preexisting accessing links within a threshold vicinity of the UE or the candidate UE, or any other UE UL interference, determine that the candidate UE is able to support the relay link based on information associated with preexisting access links for the candidate UE, and perform a link establishment process for the relay link with the candidate UE based on the determinations.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a number of beam directions that satisfy a transmission power condition. The UE may select a beam direction for a random access signal by choosing one of the beam directions that satisfies additional criteria, such as transmitting a random access message at the next opportunity. The transmission power may be selected based on a target receive power and a path loss for the selected beam. In some cases, if the sum of the path loss for a beam direction and the target receive power exceeds a maximum transmission power by more than a predetermined amount, the random access signal will not be transmitted using that beam. In some cases, if a response to the random access is not received, a different beam direction may be selected, the transmission power may be increased, or both.
