    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide apparatus, methods, processing systems, and computer readable mediums for non-standalone sidelink discovery. A user equipment (UE) may be capable to operate in two or more separate frequency ranges. In one of the separate frequency ranges, sidelink discovery may require a burdensome overhead due to the nature of beam forming at high frequency ranges. Communications in another lower frequency range may signal to aid the discovery, thus reducing the overhead. For example, the UEs may use the low frequency communication to perform a beam alignment and discovery with lower signaling overhead. In addition, the UE may signal the capability in a first frequency range using signatures or indications in a communication in a second frequency range. For example, the UE may use FR2 to signal FR1 capability, such as using beam pilots as signatures to indicate FR1 capability.

    Abstract: Methods and techniques are described for supporting location services for a user equipment (UE) using a location server and service based interfaces (SBIs) and SBI service operations in a Fifth Generation wireless network. The location server may be, e.g., a Location Management Function (LMF). The LMF may be in either a serving Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) for a UE or in a Home PLMN for a roaming UE. The LMF may receive a location service request for the UE using an SBI and may communicate with another entity in the network, through a second entity and using an SBI, to obtain location information for the UE measured by the other entity. The LMF may determine a location for the UE based on the location information.

In some aspects, a relay user equipment may establish a sidelink unicast link with a remote UE via a sidelink signaling interface; receive, from a network entity, configuration information comprising at least one of: remote UE link identifier information associated with the sidelink unicast link for a relay service, an RLC channel mapping between the one or more RLC channels of the sidelink unicast link and the link with the network entity, or data routing information associated with the relay service; configure the one or more RLC channels for the sidelink unicast link and the link with the network entity based at least in part on the configuration information; and relay communications between the remote UE and the network entity based at least in part on the configuration information. The UE may perform access link communication with the BS based at least in part on the access link DRX configuration and/or may perform sidelink communication with another UE based at least in part on the sidelink DRX configuration.
