    摘要： A coal cutting machine 13, a conveyor 12 and a plurality of mine roof supports 10 extend along the face 11 of a coal mine. The operation of the hydraulic jacks of the roof supports are controlled by pilot valves which are electrically powered and rotationally driven. For example, motorized or cam operated pilot valves can be used. Such pilot valves use much less energy than valves controlled conventionally by solenoids, and the electricity supply can thus be at an intrinsically safe level.The operation of the pilot valves include unitary operation of a given support, remote operation of one support from another and sequential operation of a series of supports. When the system controls a plurality of supports sequentially, sensing means sensitive to a first pressure level in a first support when the first support is set to a mine roof activate another support in the sequence when the first pressure level has been sensed in the first support, while continuing the raising of the pressure in the first support until a second, higher pressure level is detected.A group of supports is controlled by a control station positioned at a face end, and in addition each support has its own individual control position. The control station incorporates a microprocessor which may be reprogrammed underground.

    摘要： Castings are produced by sandwiching a central mould part 10 between two outer mould parts 36, 38 during the casting process. The central mould part 10 is then transfered sequentially from between the outer mould parts 36, 38 and subsequently re-located between the outer mould parts in a vacant, relatively cool, and dry condition for the production of a further casting. In one embodiment a plurality of central mould parts are transferred sequentially from the outer mould parts to a removal station 45, a quenching station 50, and a drying station 70, before being returned to the central mould parts.

    摘要： In an integrated circuit receiving multiple serial data streams in parallel, a local clock is generated from each data stream and is synchronized with the data stream. Sometimes a data stream may have no transitions making it difficult to keep the clock synchronized with its data. A clock channel is provided, which always has edges. A circuit is provided for each data stream which measures the time elapsed since the data stream had an edge. After a certain period, the phase of the local clock is nudged towards that of the clock channel. Thereafter, the longer there are no edges on the data stream the more frequently nudges towards the phase of the clock channel are made.

    摘要： A circuit for receiving multiple serial datastreams in parallel is disclosed. A bit clock is recovered from each data stream, there being one data bit for each transition of the clock signal both positive and negative going. The phases of the bit clocks are compared and are adjusted by 180 degrees so that the positive going edges of all occur close to each other. The bits of each stream are assembled into words under the control of a word clock. In one embodiment a common word clock is derived form the set of bit clocks as a whole. In another embodiment each stream is provided with its own word clock which is aligned to positive edges of the respective bit clocks that are close to each other.
