摘要： A right management server manages usage of a content on a parent terminal and a child terminal. The right management server includes content usage right database that stores right information indicating a usage rule of a content for each terminal ID or user ID, and a parental control information management unit that acquires, from the parent terminal or the parent user, parental control information that is an instruction to put a restriction on usage of a content on the child terminal or by a child user, and stores the parental control information in a parental control information database. The right management server also includes a license ticket generation unit that acquires a license ticket issuance request from the child terminal or the child user, generates a license ticket that is information for permitting usage of the content on the child terminal or by the child user, under a usage rule with a restriction indicated by the parental control information which is held in the parental control information management unit, and sends the license ticket to the child terminal or the child user.

The mutual rating system is connected to the network (3), and includes: a plurality of third party terminals (1(#3)) having stored therein rating information related to objects previously rated by the user; and content demanding terminal devices (1(#1)) for collecting rating information related to desired objects from all online rating information stoning terminal devices. Each content demanding terminal device (I(# I )) analyzes rating information collected from the third party terminal devices (1(#3)) to obtain a rating for a desired object.

摘要： To provide a content playback device that can use content appropriately by avoiding output of content not permitted to be used according to contract information. A playback control unit 102 extracts a content name from playback control information in a playback path information table 210, and inquires of a rights management unit 108 whether content identified by the extracted content name is playable or not. If the content is judged as being unplayable, the playback control unit 102 extracts an alternative playback number from the playback control information, and extracts a content name from playback control information whose playback number matches the alternative playback number. The playback control unit 102 then instructs a decryption unit 103 and a playback unit 107 to decrypt and play back encrypted content identified by the extracted content name.

The key acquisition unit (204) acquires a rights key via a key acquisition intermediation unit (223) from an apparatus specified by an acquisition-destination type and a request-destination type that are stored in the playback control information table (211) and that corresponding to the content to be played. The key acquisition unit (204) generates a content key using the acquired rights key and, when required, a medium key recorded in a medium. A decryption unit (203) decrypts encrypted content using the content key.
