Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes receiving, from a base station, configuration information on at least one reference signal, receiving, from the base station, the at least one reference signal based on the configuration information, measuring for at least one beam based on a combining for the at least one reference signal, and transmitting, to the base station, measurement information including a result of a measurement, wherein the result includes at least one of information on a phase difference for the at least one beam or information on a direction of the at least one beam.
