Abstract: A display device includes a substrate, a switching element on the substrate, a pixel electrode disposed on the switching element and connected to the switching element, a light emitting layer on the pixel electrode, a common electrode on the light emitting layer, and a sealing portion on the common electrode. The sealing portion includes an organic layer, and at least one first composite inorganic layer disposed between the organic layer and the common electrode. The at least one first composite inorganic layer includes a first inorganic layer between the common electrode and the organic layer, and a second inorganic layer between the first inorganic layer and the organic layer. A refractive index of the first inorganic layer and a refractive index of the second inorganic layer are different from each other, and the first inorganic layer and the second inorganic layer contact each other.

Abstract: A display panel includes a light emitting element layer comprising a pixel definition layer having an opening defined therethrough and a light emitting element disposed in the opening. The pixel definition layer includes a first barrier portion and a second barrier portion spaced apart from each other in a first direction to define a first space having a first length in the first direction. A first inorganic layer covers the light emitting element layer. The first inorganic layer includes an uneven upper surface corresponding to the first space. An organic layer is in contact with an upper surface of the first in layer. A first groove is defined by the upper surface of the first inorganic layer overlapping the first space. A thickness of the first inorganic layer overlapping the first space varies. The organic layer is filled in the first groove.

Abstract: A display panel includes a base substrate including a front surface and a rear surface and having first and second holes, and a pixel layer on the base substrate. A display area is defined in the front surface. The first hole overlaps with the display area and penetrates the front and rear surfaces. The second hole overlaps with the display area, is adjacent to the first hole, and is recessed from the front surface. The base substrate includes a first base layer including the rear surface, a first barrier layer on the first base layer and including first inorganic films having a first refractive index, and second inorganic films having a second refractive index, a second base layer on the first barrier layer, and a second barrier layer on the second base layer and including the front surface. The first and second inorganic films are alternately stacked.

Abstract: A display panel includes a peripheral region adjacent to a display region. The display region includes a hole peripheral region, and a recessed region is overlapped with the hole peripheral region. The display panel also includes a barrier layer with a penetrating opening overlapped with the recessed region, a circuit layer on the barrier layer and including transistor and insulating layers, and a device layer including an organic light emitting area coupled to the circuit layer. In addition, a module hole is overlapped with the hole peripheral region and penetrates the base substrate, and a first groove is overlapped with the hole peripheral region and corresponds to a portion of the base substrate that is recessed from a top surface of the barrier layer and that encloses the module hole. The insulating layers include inorganic layers and an organic layer having side portions enclosing the module hole.

The groove is located between the opening and the display area. The groove has an undercut cross-section that is concave in a thickness direction of the multi-layer, the second layer includes a pair of tips that protrude toward a center of the groove, and a length of each tip is less than about 2 μm.

The sealing unit includes a cover portion on the light blocking layer, and an extension portion extending from the cover portion. The depression has a width larger than a width of the third hole.
