A moving portion is provided on the drive member and is configured to move together with the drive member in the moving direction. An interfering portion is disposed downstream of a predetermined detection position with respect to the moving direction, thereby interfering with the moving portion and preventing the moving portion from passing the predetermined detection position a second time. A detecting portion detects passage of the moving portion at the predetermined detection position. An information determining portion determines information on the developer cartridge based on detection results of the detecting portion.

In this keyswitch device, the key top 2 is disposed to be movably upward and downward on a holder member 4 through a guide member 3, which supports a first link member 10 and a second link member 11 to be mutually rotatable. A circuit board 6 is fixed to a rubber spring 5 on which a base portion 12 of the first link member 10 of the guide member 3 is mounted is designed to be slidable on a support plate 7 in the opening and closing direction of the first link member 10 and the second link member 11 between the operation position and the non-operation position of the key top 2 through an operation knob 27. With this construction, thinning of the keyswitch device 1 can be accomplished. When the keyswitch device 1 is carried, the circuit board 6 is slid to the non-operation position to shift the rubber spring 5 to the non-operation position where it is separated from the guide member 3. Thereby, the guide member 3 is released from being biased by the rubber spring 5, and the first link member 10 and the second link member 11 are folded, so that the height of the key top 2 can be reduced.

The present invention provides a keyswitch assembly enabling a keyboard employing the same to be formed in a small thickness without sacrificing the stroke of the key to the reduction of thickness of the keyboard, facilitating keystroke operation and securing reliable keystroke. The keyswitch assembly has a key supported on a base plate by a support mechanism formed by pivotally connecting first and second support levers each provided with pivots at their opposite ends in a scissors-like form by a pivotal joint. The support levers are connected to the key and the base plate by fitting the pivots thereof in round holes and horizontally elongate grooves formed in the key and in round holes and horizontally elongate grooves formed in the base plate. When the key is depressed, the first and second support levers turn on the pivots fitted pivotally in the round holes and the pivotal joint compresses a rubber spring disposed under the support mechanism for switching.

A keyboard having a key-holder plate for movably supporting multiple keys of substantially the same shape and size in plural parallel rows, multiple switches disposed so as to correspond to the multiple keys and provide electrical outputs upon depression of the keys at their top faces, an upper casing having an aperture which accommodates upper portions of the keys and allows the keys to be operated, and a lower casing cooperating with the upper casing to enclose the multiple switches. The upper casing and said key-holder plate are integrally molded of a synthetic resin, and the key holder plate includes multiple guide portions which have guide holes for slidably guiding the corresponding keys between their non-operated and operated positions. The guide portions have stopper parts which determine the non-operated positions of the keys. The stopper parts are disposed along a curved reference surface which is slightly curved downwardly in a direction perpendicular to the plural parallel rows of the keys, so that an operating surface of the keys which is generally defined by the top faces is downwardly curved following a curvature of the curved reference surface.
