摘要: In a semiconductor integrated circuit, a detection confirmation circuit sets the logical level of a second signal according to the logical level of a first signal observed after a lapse of a predetermined time since detection of insertion/removal of a cable for peripheral equipment. The semiconductor integrated circuit operates in a standby mode in which only the insertion/removal detection circuit operates if no cable for peripheral equipment is connected, in a repeater mode in which only PHY operates if a cable for peripheral equipment is connected and CPU is in the suspended state, and in a normal mode in which both PHY and LINK operate if a cable for peripheral equipment is connected and a CPU is in the operating state.

摘要: An object of the present invention relates to detecting a target substance with high contrast. The invention relates to analysis of a target substance using a light-transmitting substrate and a metal for inducing plasmon resonance, and further using a low refractive index layer with an opening portion, which forms an interface with the substrate, and which has a lower refractive index than the substrate. Light emitted from a substrate side is totally reflected at the interface to irradiate the metal arranged in the opening portion with evanescent light. Light generated from the target substance by plasmon resonance of the evanescent light is detected. According to the invention, the radiation of evanescent light to a martial other than the target substance can be reduced, and thereby light emission from the martial other than the target substance, e.g., a molecule floating around the target substance, can be reduced.

摘要: When a receiver (200) receives a signal transmitted from a transmitter, an A/D converter (204) converts the signal into a digital signal having two or more levels by A/D conversion. A zero-level detector (207) converts the signal into a two-level digital signal of positive and negative levels. The converted signals are subjected to spectrum despreading by correlators (206, 208), respectively. Whichever signal has a higher intensity is selected by absolute value detectors (209, 210), a comparator (211), and a switch (212). A decoder (213) decodes the selected signal. In a receiving state where the zero-level detector (207) is selected, the transmitter transmits the transmission signal after the signal is converted into a two-level signal. In a receiving state where the A/D converter (204) is selected, the transmitter transmits the transmission signal after the signal is converted into a signal having two or more levels.

摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a capillary electrophoresis apparatus in which simultaneity can be ensured between sensitivity and data acquisition to decrease a pull-up signal while spectral data acquisition is eliminated in each capillary exchange. The invention relates to a capillary electrophoresis apparatus characterized in that a multi-bandpass filter is provided in an optical detection system. In one aspect of the invention, a signal detection area of a two-dimensional detector is divided into plural regions corresponding to wavelength transmission regions of the multi-bandpass filter. An integrated value of the fluorescence spectrum signal is determined in the region including a fluorescence spectrum peak of an analysis sample in the plural regions. The analysis is performed with the integrated value.

摘要: An ion generating element (10) has at least one first discharger (12) for generating positive ions and at least one second discharger (13) for generating negative ions, both fitted or printed on a single dielectric member (11). The first and second dischargers (12) and (13) are each composed of a pair of a first or second discharging electrode (12a) or (13a), respectively, formed on the surface of the dielectric member (11) and a first or second induction electrode (12b) or (13b), respectively, buried in the dielectric member (11), and are arranged both on the same flat surface of the dielectric member (11) but separately from and independently of each other. This construction helps to alleviate the neutralization among the generated ions themselves, thus to effectively release both positive and negative ions, and thereby to enhance the ion generation efficiency.

摘要: A method of inspecting a DNA chip and an apparatus therefor that allow a picture to be reconstructed in the following steps: A plurality of irradiation spots are formed on a DNA probe array mounted on a stage. Then, the stage is displaced in X, Y directions so as to execute a scanning, thereby irradiating substantially all the entire surface of the DNA probe array. Next, a plurality of emitted fluorescent lights, which are generated from the plurality of irradiation spot portions on the DNA probe array, are converged and are then detected simultaneously by multi detectors. Finally, a data processing apparatus processes the detected signals, thereby reconstructing the picture.

摘要: First and second transmission lines and are connected to each other in series. A first terminator is connected to the first transmission line in parallel, and is provided externally of a semiconductor device. A second terminator is connected to the second transmission line in parallel, and is provided inside the semiconductor device. The values of the first and second terminator are adjusted so that the combined resistance value of first and second terminator and the second transmission line matches with the impedance of the first transmission line. Impedance matching of the entire transmission line can be achieved with this simple construction, thus, a stable, high quality signal can be transmitted.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention provide a data storage device test method and data storage device manufacture method which allow a tester to perform an operation test of plural data storage devices connected thereto in a shorter period of time. In one embodiment, an operation test of each of plural HDDs 81-84 connected to a tester is performed by making plural HDDs 81-84 execute commands received from the tester, wherein, during a waiting period when exchange stops between the tester and, for example, HDD 81 of which operation test is being executed, the tester executes the operation test of another HDD. Such a waiting period occurs, for example, before HDD 81 becomes ready to receive a command, before a data transfer is completed and before HDD 81 becomes ready to receive the subsequent command. By using this waiting period, the tester issues a command to, for example, HDD 82 if the HDD is ready to receive a command or transfers data to the HDD if data transfer is possible.
