    摘要: An optical disk apparatus for reproducing or recording and reproducing two or more sorts of optical disks whose recording plane heights are different is arranged to reproduce or record data from or on the optical disk transparently to the user and without the users intricate operations. For this purpose, the optical disk apparatus provides a disk discriminating circuit for discriminating the disks whose recording plane heights are different. The disk discriminating circuit operates to discriminate the disk before reproducing or recording the disk mounted to the optical disk apparatus and switch the optical system and the circuit system to the suitable ones to the discriminated disk and then reproduce or record the data from or on the disk.

    摘要: An optical disk reproducing apparatus for reproducing at a high access-speed an optical disk on which data has been recorded at a constant linear velocity (CLV) includes a control circuit for controlling reading of the disk recorded at a CLV to be rotated at a constant angular velocity (CAV), and a processor for changing the frequency of a reference clock to determine the processing timing of the reproduced digital signal in accordance with a transmission speed of the digital information signal picked up from the disk. A motor for driving the disk can be rotated at a constant revolution rate upon access to the disk, and thus it is possible to remove one of the factors for determining the access time in the conventional CLV type reproduction system, or the time for controlling the motor to rotate for a constant linear velocity in accordance with the position of the optical pickup.

    摘要: An image display control apparatus ensures reduction of memory capacity and cost. The apparatus generates an image superimposing instruction when a second screen effect control is not performed, and image data of first to third frame memories are selectively output according to a select signal in the absence of the image superimposing instruction. Image data for superimposition and background data are stored in the third frame memory and a background data memory respectively, and the coincidence of the stored background and superimposition image data is determined. When the image superimposing instruction is issued, image data of the third frame memory and image data produced based on the image data of the first or second frame memory are selectively output according to the results of discrimination to yield single combined image data. A still picture reproducing system produces a still picture even when a control drive unit is connected to a player or a recording medium such as a control disk is not loaded in the control drive unit even when it is connected to the system. When playback control data as a playback control program is not fed to the player, spare control data is read out from first storage means and still picture data is read out by the image drive unit in accordance with the spare control data, to produce a video signal.

    摘要: A constant linear velocity disk rotating apparatus for rotating a disk storing data recorded therein substantially at fixed linear recording speed detects a signal recorded in the disk by signal detecting means, obtains a control signal through the comparison of phase of the signal detected from the disk and that of a reference signal by phase comparing means, and controls the rotating speed of the disk on the basis of the control signal. To maintain the sensitivity of phase error detection which tends to vary in proportion to the radial position r of the signal detecting means relative to the disk at a fixed level, the gain of the phase control system is regulated in inverse proportion to the radial position r of the signal detecting means according to the output of detecting means which detects the rotating frequency or period of the disk. The control signal provided by the phase comparing means is applied to disk driving means after regulating the gain thereof by varying the duty factor in transmitting the control signal to the disk driving means.

    摘要: The present invention enables a comprehensive evaluation from both of data read from a disk and a servo signal of a servo controller. The present invention provides a semiconductor integrated circuit mountable to a disk recording and reproducing drive, which comprises a signal processor of an RF signal read from a pickup, a servo controller responsive to a servo error signal read from the pickup, a memory controller, and an external interface. The memory controller is supplied with read data and a servo signal and stores the read data and the servo signal in a buffer memory according to a time division process. The read data and the servo signal stored in the buffer memory can be transferred to an external device via the external interface by the memory controller.
