    摘要: In a optical disc system with constraint length equal to or greater than 5, under assumption that continuous 2T count included in a predetermined evaluation bit array is denoted by i and that length of evaluation bit array of interest is given by (5+2i), judgment is passed on whether binary bit arrays include the evaluation bit array. Previously prepared are the error vectors calculated on the basis of target signals corresponding to the evaluation bit arrays and the target signals derived from the binary bit arrays, and the selection of a desired error vector is performed depending on the result of the judgment. At the same time, an equalized error vector is calculated from the target signal derived from the binary bit array and the reproduced signal, and the inner product of the equalized error vector and the selected error vector is calculated.

    摘要: A need to effectively record data of various sizes on a large-capacity holographic memory capable of high-speed recording is achieved, for example, by curing a first part of the holographic recording which is able to be multiplex-recorded in one or more units of a predetermined volume, and by not recording/curing a second part which is not able to be multiplex-recorded in a predetermined volume at a timing when the first recording part is cured. Also the above need can be achieved by, another example, by adding dummy data to the second part. Alternatively, the second part can be recorded on another track, in which it is possible to record in different units, e.g. by bit recording in a track that utilizes a DVD recording format. According to the present examples, we can record data of various sizes on the holographic memory effectively while performing large-capacity and high-speed holographic recording.

    摘要: Test writing is executed while skipping areas where deviations are present on an optical disk to thereby improve accuracy and reliability of an optimum recording condition to be derived. A deviation detecting unit detects the deviations of a guide groove on the optical disk on the basis of a fluctuation amount of a focus error signal or a tracking error signal, and registers information of the detected deviations onto a memory. A test writing processing unit refers to the memory, and records and reproduces a test signal while skipping the areas where the deviations are detected.

    摘要: In an optical disk apparatus, by obtaining the temperature in the vicinity of a laser in the apparatus, the power source voltage of the laser driver is controlled such that power consumed by the headroom of the laser driver is reduced to the maximum extent without deteriorating the current drive characteristic of the headroom when the temperature becomes higher. The laser driving current of the laser driver is monitored to control the power source of the laser driver such that the power consumed by the headroom is possibly reduced while maintaining the current drive characteristic of the headroom for the monitored current.
