摘要: Spherical convex micro-lenses are arranged between rectangular grooves adjacent to each other of a lens plate. The arrangement of convex micro-lenses is made to be in parallel with the short-side direction of the lens plate, namely, the direction of the rectangular grooves. Since stray light appears mainly on the convex micro-lenses arranged in the long-side direction of the lens plate, the stray light to appear in the long-side direction of the lens plate is removed by forming grooves at regular intervals in the long-side direction of the lens plate and forming a light absorbing film in each of the rectangular grooves. Or the stray light to appear in the long-side direction of the lens plate is removed by making the direction of arrangement of convex micro-lenses different from the long-side direction of the lens plate.

摘要: A stereoimage formation apparatus includes two lens array plates, each of which includes microlenses having optical axes and peaks. The optical axes of the microlenses are parallel to one another. The optical axes of the microlenses in one of the lens array plates are aligned with the optical axes of the microlenses in the other lens array plate. The peaks of the microlenses in one of the lens array plates come in contact with or are located proximal to the peaks of the microlenses in the other lens array plate. The microlenses of each lens array plate each have a predetermined spherical aberration greater than a predetermined minimum spherical aberration.

摘要: A bar-shaped light guide is provided to allow its emitting surface to be exposed from a white casing and is provided with a pattern for scattering and reflecting the light on a bottom surface opposite to the emitting surface. This pattern is formed by a white paint or minute irregularities. Further, an end face of the bar-shaped light guide opposite to the incident side is made cube-corner shaped. In other words, the end face is made chevroned by mirror-finished flat surfaces. These flat surfaces are tilted at such an angle that an incident angle θ of the rays of light traveling through the bar-shaped light guide parallel to the longitudinal direction of the bar-shaped light guide is smaller than a critical angle.

摘要: A light guide, a line-illuminating device, and an image-scanning device are provided which are excellent in uniformity of the light amount. A light-reflecting portion comprised of tubular concave surfaces becomes a reflecting surface having tubular convex surfaces when seen from the inside of the light guide. With such structure, even when the incident angle of light from a light source unit slightly displaces, the reflection angle in the tubular convex surfaces significantly changes. In an irregular surface having a triangular shape, as in a conventional example, the incident angle becomes almost uniform in the area far from the light source unit, and thereby the reflection angle also becomes uniform. Consequently, it is difficult to achieve uniform reflection in the main-scanning direction. However, with the tubular concave surfaces, light is reflected uniformly toward the upper surface as a light-emitting surface.

摘要: A lens array of an erecting mode with unity amplification which scarcely generates a stray light and a flare light, is provided. In the lens array of the erecting mode with unity amplification constituted by superposing a plurality of lens plates in which convex lenses are arrayed and formed on both sides, a lens pitch P of the array direction of the convex lenses is not less than two times the height of an inverted image formed inside the lens array of the erecting mode with unity amplification, and an aperture diaphragm is provided on individual lens elements in a position in which the inverted image is formed so that a light does not pass through the outside of the region of a circle having the height of the inverted image as a radius.

摘要: According to the present invention, there is provided an illuminating device for illuminating a surface to be illuminated with light passed through a fiber bundle from a light source, wherein the shape of the exit end of the fiber bundle is linear (or narrowly rectangular), to correspond to the shape of the shape of a surface to be illuminated. A microlens array, a lenticular lens surface of which comprises a dense array of concave cylindrical microlenses, being of a shape that corresponds to the shape of the exit end of the fiber bundle, is provided at an end of the fiber bundle. Illumination thereby is effectively free of irregularities in the level of illumination across the surface to be illuminated.
