    摘要: An electrophotographic process comprising forming an electrostatic image on the surface of a sensitive member, transferring the electrostatic image onto the surface of a transfer member, and developing the image so transferred. The process specifically involves using an overcoated sensitive member consisting essentially of an electrically conductive base, a photoconductive layer and a light-transmitting surface insulating layer, subjecting the sensitive member to a primary charging in a specific polarity using a direct current corona discharge, exposing light and dark images on the surface of the sensitive member and simultaneously subjecting it to a secondary charging until the surface of the sensitive member has the same polarity as in the primary charging and its potential becomes substantially equal to the untransferable upper limit potential, exposing the entire surface of the sensitive member to render the potential of the dark image area higher than the untransferable upper limit potential without substantially changing the potential of the light image area, transferring the electrostatic image so formed on the surface of the sensitive member to the surface of a transfer member, and then developing the electrostatic image so transferred thereby to form visible images.

    摘要: A developer for electrostatic images comprising a binder medium and a pigment dispersed in the binder medium is disclosed. This binder medium comprises (A) a thermoplastic or rubbery polymer containing a member selected from the group consisting of a halogen atom and a nitrile group at a concentration of at least 100 milliequivalents per 100 g of the polymer and (B) a binder having a melting temperature lower than that of the polymer (A) at an (A)/(B) mixing weight ratio of from 1/20 to 1/1. The halogen- or nitrile-containing polymer (A) is present in the form of fine particles dispersed in the continuous phase of the binder (B). This developer has good flowability and charge characteristics at the developing step and shows an excellent offset-preventing effect at the fixing step.

    摘要: In a one-component type developer for electrophotography consisting essentially of a dry blend of fixing magneto-sensitive particles and flowability- and electric resistance-controlling fine particles, when an aromatic vinyl resin and/or an acrylic resin is used as a binder resin for the magneto-sensitive particles in combination with a low molecular weight olefin resin, the magneto-sensitive particles are much improved in the property of holding the flowability- and electric resistance-controlling fine particles on the surfaces thereof. Accordingly, these fine particles cannot be substantially separated from the magneto-sensitive particles under agitation conditions, development conditions and fixing conditions. As a result, contamination of the interior of a copying machine, especially an optical system, can be completely prevented, and also contamination of the background can be completely prevented. Further, the resulting fixed images have a very high resistance to friction and abrasion, and troubles such as blurring and flow of the image are not caused at all.

    摘要: Improvements are provided in and relating to an electrostatic copying apparatus including a housing, a support for supporting an original to be copied, the support being mounted on the housing and having a transparent plate for supporting the original thereon and a holding member for covering the original on the transparent plate, a system for forming a copied image disposed within the housing and having an optical system for projecting the image of the original on the transparent plate, and a system for transferring a copying paper synchronously with the scanning of the original which is effected by the relative movement of the original holder and the optical system. The improvements include an improvement in the control of the cutting of the copying paper where the copying paper-transferring system includes a system for supplying a roll of copying paper; an improvement in a device for starting the supply of copying paper synchronously with the scanning of the image of the original; an improvement in a device for supplying the roll of copying paper in the copying paper-transferring system; and an improvement in a device for supplying a copying paper in sheet form in the copying paper-transferring system.

This transfer sheet has feel and touch quite similar to those of ordinary paper and is very excellent in graphic characteristics.

    摘要: A magnetic toner for electrostatic photography consisting essentially of spherical particles of a composition comprising a fine powder of a magnetic material having an average particle size not exceeding 1000 m.mu. and being dispersed in a binder resin, said powdery magnetic material being present in an amount of 25 to 75% by weight based on the composition, spherical particles of said composition having such a particle size distribution that particles having a particle size larger than 44 .mu. occupy up to 10% of the total particles and particles having a particle size smaller than 2 .mu. occupy up to 10% of the total particles, wherein said fine powder of the magnetic material is distributed predominantly in the surface layer portion of each spherical particle and said spherical particles have a volume resistivity not higher than 1 .times. 10.sup.11 .OMEGA.-cm as measured in a magnetic field of about 680 gauss under a voltage of 1000 V.
