摘要: The teachings as provided herein relate to a watermark embedded in an image that has the property of being relatively indecipherable under normal light, and yet decipherable under UV light. This fluorescent mark comprises a substrate containing optical brightening agents, and a first dot design printed as an image upon the substrate. The first dot design has as a characteristic the property of strongly suppressing substrate fluorescence. A second dot design having a property of providing a differing level of substrate fluorescence suppression from that of the first dot design such that when rendered in close spatial proximity with the first dot design image print, the resultant image rendered substrate suitably exposed to an ultra-violet light source, will yield a discernable image evident as a fluorescent mark.

摘要: The teachings as provided herein relate to a watermark embedded in an image that has the property of being relatively indecipherable under normal light, and yet decipherable under UV light. This fluorescent mark comprises a substrate containing optical brightening agents, and a first colorant mixture printed as an image upon the substrate. The colorant mixture layer has as characteristics a property of strongly suppressing substrate fluorescence, as well as a property of low contrast under normal illumination against the substrate or a second colorant mixture printed in close spatial proximity to the first colorant mixture, such that the resultant image rendered substrate suitably exposed to an ultra-violet light source, will yield a discernable image evident as a fluorescent mark.

摘要: A system facilitates printing of microtext. A processing component allows a user to create one or more microtext characters, wherein the characters are output as a data packet. An SRE code store receives and associates one or more SRE codes with the data packet, each SRE code is representative of a bit pattern, wherein the bit pattern is a grid of bits that are filled to create a particular pattern. A font bank receives the one or more SRE codes from the SRE code store and defines such codes via a font. A raster image processor receives the font from the font bank, decodes the font and outputs instructions to print the microtext.

摘要: Identifying the substrate type of a target substrate before patterning by a marking engine produces an opportunity to adjust the marking engine. The adjustments can enable the marking engine to produce higher quality work. The target substrate's substrate type can be automatically identified by obtaining its characteristics and submitting them to a classifier. A spectrophotometer can measure a substrates reflectance spectrum, which is a good characteristic for use in classifying. Classifiers can be based on known distance or correlation measures.

摘要: An image finder method and apparatus are provided for identifying a source image data file in a database based upon a printed image actually generated from a source image data file in the database. Input image data that represent a printed input image are received from a scanner. Source image data are received from the database that is defined by a plurality of different source image data files stored on a CD-ROM or other storage medium. Correlation operations are carried out to identify any source image data files that are highly correlated with the input image data. The results of the correlation operations are used to identify the source image data file from which the input printed image was actually generated or, if this is not possible, to identify more than one source image data file that could be the source image data file from which the printed input image was actually generated. Both the input image data and source image data are severely subsampled to obtain no more than about 1000 (and most preferably no more than 200) data values from each set of data for use in the correlation operation to provide for extremely fast processing without loss of accuracy.

Further, the method and apparatus may include applying a high pass filter to at least one chrominance component of a color image to generate at least one high pass filtered chrominance component, and adjusting a luminance component of the color image based upon the at least one high pass filtered chrominance component.

摘要: Methods and systems used to automatically identify the marking process used for an image on a substrate based on spatial characteristics and/or color of the image. Image types which are classified and identified include continuous tone images and halftone images. Among halftone images separately identified are inkjet images, xerographic images and lithographic images. Locally adaptive image threshold techniques may be used to determine the spatial characteristics of the image.

摘要: What is disclosed is a method for presenting spreadsheets and other documents on client-side devices with limited resources and tiny display screen area. The present invention involves the user, on a client-side device, scrolling through a condensed image view of a document with the user's viewpoint of the image repeatedly computed server-side. A split-bar is stitched into a composite view of the user's current viewpoint. The user clicks a scroll-bar or scroll-points to indicate an intended change in direction of their current viewpoint. The client-side device provides the server with information as to where and how the next viewpoint is to be updated. Responsive to the received client information the server updates the viewpoint currently displayed with the transmission of images therefor and provides the same back to the client. In such a manner, the computing power and resources of the server are utilized for the image manipulation, cropping, etc. rather than that of the client's handheld device.

摘要: The present invention is a method and apparatus for automatic image segmentation using template matching filters. The invention generally segments differing binary textures or structures within an input image by passing one or more structures while removing other structures. More particularly, the method and apparatus segment a stored binary image using a template matching filter that is designed to pass therethrough, for example, text regions while removing halftone regions.
