Abstract:
A sheet handling apparatus for handling a sheet therein, comprises, a first body including a first transfer path along which the sheet is driven to be moved, a second body including a second transfer path along which the sheet is driven to be moved, an interface area through which the first and second transfer paths of the first and second bodies movable with respect to each other on occasion demands, are capable of communicating with each other so that the sheet is capable of being transferred through the interface area between the first and second transfer paths when the first and second bodies have a predetermined positional relationship therebetween, and a controller for controlling at least one of the first and second transfer paths to drive the sheet to be moved along the at least one of the first and second transfer paths.
Abstract:
A navigation apparatus displays a trend of house number increase or house number decrease when a vehicle is traveling on a street from one intersection to another intersection. By displaying the trend of the house number increase or the house number decrease as a clue of currently traveling position of the vehicle, the navigation apparatus makes it possible for a driver of the vehicle to easily understand where the driver is going and/or where the driver is traveling.
Abstract:
A removing tool 1 having a tubular member 2 and guide wire 3 inserted into a vessel. The tubular member 2 has a removing portion 5 for removing an intravascular obstruction by contacting to the intravascular obstruction. The outer circumferential plane of the removing portion 5 has a spirally projecting portion 10. The tubular member 5 has an operating portion 6 held by an operator for operating the removing portion 5. A guide wire 3 guides the removing portion 5 to the position where the intravascular obstruction is formed. The operating portion 6 is operated by the operator to move the removing portion 5 back and forth in the longitudinal direction of the vessel.
Abstract:
A sewing cartridge includes a cassette body, a hollow needle that can pass through a work cloth, a spool around which a thread to be supplied to the hollow needle is wound, a needle cover that covers at least a tip of the hollow needle, and a coil compression spring that urges the needle cover to a cover position where the needle cover covers the hollow needle.
Abstract:
A method for producing a food product of wheat includes the step of adding a bacillus lactase enzyme having activity for transferring sugar to lipid to raw material of wheat, where the food product of wheat produced by the method maintains its freshness for a longer period of time than a food product of wheat produced by a method including no step of adding the enzyme to the material.
Abstract:
The boundary between the rolling surface 3a and the larger end surface 3b of a roller 3 and the boundary between the rolling surface 3a and the smaller end surface 3c are formed with rounded portions Rb and Rc, respectively. The rolling surface 3a and the rounded portion Rb associated with the larger end surface 3b are smoothly continuous with each other through a first arc R1, while the larger end surface 3b and the rounded portion Rb are smoothly continuous with each other through a second arc R2.
Abstract:
A device for detecting the deterioration of a catalytic converter for an engine having two or more cylinder groups, and a catalytic converter disposed in a common exhaust passage with which exhaust passages individually connected to the respective cylinder groups are merged, wherein the air-fuel ratio of the respective cylinder groups are controlled independently based on the output of the upstream air-fuel ratio sensors disposed in the respective individual exhaust passages. Since the air-fuel ratios of the respective cylinder groups are controlled independently, the phases of the air-fuel ratio oscillations of exhaust gases flowing into the common exhaust passage from the individual exhaust passages are usually not synchronized. However, during the engine operation, the phases of the air-fuel ratio oscillations of the exhaust gases are occasionally spontaneously synchronized due to slight differences of the periods of the cycle of the air-fuel ratio feedback controls in the respective cylinder groups. The device detects such a spontaneous synchronization, and determines whether or not the catalytic converter has deteriorated based on the output of the downstream air-fuel ratio sensor disposed in the common exhaust passage downstream of the catalytic converter.
