    摘要: In a tapered roller bearing in which a segment holder divided into a plurality of segments in a circumference direction is used in an inner ring assembly, which is incorporated into an outer ring, guide claws are provided on an outer-diameter side of adjacent columnar portions of each pocket of a holder to allow the tapered rollers to be inserted into the pockets from an inner-diameter side of the segments. An engaging portion is provided on a large-diameter-side lateral-surface of a large-diameter-side arc-shaped portion of the segment. A connecting member, which is to be wound around on a large-diameter side of the segments arranged in a ring shape, is made to pass through the engaging portion, and ends of the connecting member are removably connected together by a fastening member, so that adjacent segments are butted together and fixed.

    摘要: A spindle nut retainer is used with a spindle with a flat portion on its threaded end. The flat portion interrupts the threads on the threaded end. A washer with a mating flat portion is slidably mounted over the threaded end and a nut is removably threaded to the threaded end of the spindle against the washer to set the preload on bearings. The nut retainer overlays a plurality of the corners of the nut and engages the threaded portion of the spindle with tangs. A majority of the tangs are flexed or bent to remain in biased contact with the threads on the spindle. Some of the tangs are located over the flat portion and remain unbent. The tangs resist rotation of the nut by engagement with the flat portion where it meets the threads.

    摘要: A self-governing bearing assembly is disclosed. The self-governing bearing assembly includes a stator and a rotor. The stator includes a brake contacting surface. The stator is one of an outer ring and an inner ring. The rotor includes the other of the outer ring and the inner ring, brake pads, and a circular spring. The brake pads are positioned radially from the brake contacting surface and adapted to rotate with the other of the outer ring and the inner ring. Each of the brake pads includes a pad retention slot. The circular spring is positioned within the pad retention slot of each of the brake pads. The bearing elements are axially aligned with a first bearing portion of the stator and a second bearing portion of the rotor. The bearing elements are adapted to rotationally support the rotor relative to the stator.
