Abstract: An EL display apparatus is provided. A display screen includes pixels arranged in a matrix, with each pixel including an EL device and a pixel circuit. A source driver circuit is configured to output an analog video signal to each pixel. A gate driver circuit is on at least one side of the display screen, with the gate driver circuit including first and second gate driver circuits. Each pixel includes a driving transistor, a first switch transistor, and a second switch transistor. A gate terminal of the first switch transistor is connected to a first gate signal line of the first gate driver circuit, and a gate terminal of the second switch transistor is connected to a second gate signal line of the second gate driver circuit. The first and second switch transistors are on/off controlled, independently, by the first and second gate driver circuits.

Abstract: An active-matrix display device includes pixels arranged in a matrix, and each of the pixels includes subpixels that are arranged along an X direction and emit light of mutually different colors. Each of the subpixels includes a TFT element provided on a TFT substrate and an organic EL element provided on the TFT substrate. The organic EL element has an opening which is a region from which emitted light exits, and the TFT substrate includes a first layer and a second layer. When same-colored subpixels of two of the pixels adjacent in the X direction are seen in a plan view, the first layer has a portion arranged in line symmetry between the same-colored subpixels and the second layer is disposed at an identical position in the openings of the same-colored subpixels.

Abstract: A display device includes a display region, an organic insulating layer, a display element, and a moisture-ingress barrier. The organic insulating layer has a groove outside the display region. The organic insulating layer extends over the display region and a region outside the groove. The display element is disposed in the display region and includes, in order, a first electrode, an organic layer, and a second electrode. The organic layer includes one or more moisture-reacting layers. The moisture-ingress barrier is disposed in the groove of the organic insulating layer, includes a material identical to the material of the one or more moisture-reacting layers, and has a thickness greater than the thickness of the one or more moisture-reacting layers.

The functional layer has a film thickness of 15 to 35 nm. A surface of the anode on the light-emitting layer side and an interface between the cathode and the light-transmitting conductive layer are spaced from each other by not less than 150 nm.

Abstract: An organic electroluminescent element includes an organic electroluminescent part and a pair of partition walls. The organic electroluminescent part includes an organic material layer, a resonator, and a film-thickness adjustment layer. The film-thickness adjustment layer has a thickness that is adjusted to allow a difference between a height of a pinning position and a height of a middle position of an upper surface of the organic material layer to fall within a predetermined range. The pinning position is a position at which the upper surface of the organic material layer and each of the partition walls are in contact with each other.

Abstract: A plurality of light emitters emitting different colors of light in a light-emitting device is provided on a surface of a substrate along two dimensions. Each light emitter includes a first electrode, a first charge injection/transport layer, a light-emitting layer, an intermediate layer, a second charge injection/transport layer, and a second electrode. The intermediate layer includes a fluoride of an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal. Among the first electrode and the second electrode, one electrode is light reflective and another electrode is light transmissive. Among the first charge injection/transport layer and the second charge injection/transport layer, one charge injection/transport layer is disposed between the light-emitting layer and the light reflective electrode, and thickness of the one charge injection/transport layer included in the first light emitter is different from thickness of the one charge injection/transport layer included in the second light emitter.
