Abstract: Embodiments provide a web-based editing tool that intelligently leverages certain functionality of a browser, web client, desktop client, and native software at the client side to provide seamless user experience when editing a file over a network. Responsive to a user selecting a file for editing, the web client may send a passive content request to a web server embedded in the desktop client at a specific address on the client device. If no response, the web client prompts the user to start or install the desktop client on the client device. If a response is received, the web client sends a request to the desktop client with a user identifier and authorization to download the file from a server. The desktop client downloads the file, opens it in the native software, monitors the file being edited, and updates a delta associated with the file to the server.

Abstract: A classification system is provided that separates unclassified pages into unclassified, separated documents and classifies the separated documents. The classification system applies a page-level recognition model to the unclassified pages to recognize the logical boundaries between documents and, based on the logical boundaries, separates the pages into unclassified, separated documents. The classification system further applies a document-level recognition model to classify the separated documents.

Abstract: Through a cloud-based centralized user interface, a federated compliance system presents a policy of interest and representations of disparate systems that match the policy of interest to a user. The disparate systems, which operate in a distributed network computing environment, can include cloud-based repositories and off-cloud repositories. The federated compliance system can pull the cloud-based repositories through a cloud orchestrator and the off-cloud repositories through an off-cloud orchestrator over a secure tunnel. The federated compliance system utilizes user-provided information on the policy of interest to determine various categories of attributes from different repository schemas employed by the disparate systems. A federated retention policy mapper, implemented as a compliance service, maps the attributes to a common schema, creates a federated retention policy, and stores it in a federated space in the distributed network computing environment. A policy change can be automatically propagated across the disparate systems using the federated retention policy.

Abstract: A local delivery service (LDS) operates in an enterprise computer network as a proxy for a communications server (CS) computer operating in a cloud computing environment. The LDS pulls a queue repository maintained by the CS and retrieves an output item flagged by the CS for local delivery. The output item has a document and associated configuration information specifying an application domain in the cloud computing environment and delivery settings specific to the application domain maintained by the CS. The LDS translates the delivery settings and routes the document to the connectors of communications channels of the enterprise computer network. In this way, documents produced by the CS in the cloud can be delivered locally to disparate destinations on the enterprise computer network without having to open individual ports in a firewall of the enterprise computer network to connect the CS with communications channels of the enterprise computer network.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for the sending, delivery and receiving of faxes are disclosed herein. In particular, certain embodiments include a fax connector that may be deployed at a user's site, and a faxing system that may be deployed remotely from the user's site. The fax connector can be accessed at the user's site over a computer based network in order to perform functions associated with faxing, including sending, receiving and obtaining status on faxes. The fax connector deployed at the user's site communicates with the remotely deployed faxing system to send, receive, obtain status on, or perform other functions associated with, faxing.

Abstract: To resolve a conflict between CMIS secondary types and certain ECM features such as content server categories, and allow the underlying ECM system to be fully CMIS-compliant, an ECM-independent ETL tool comprising a CMIS-compliant, repository-specific connector is provided. Operating on an integration services server at an integration tier between an application tier and a storage tier where the repository resides, the connector is particular configured to support CMIS secondary types and specific to the repository. On startup, the connector can import any category definition from the repository. The category definition contains properties associated with a category in the repository. When the category is attached to a document, the properties are viewable via a special category object type and a category identifier for the category. Any application can be adapted to leverage the ECM-independent ETL tool disclosed herein.

Abstract: An ad in a movie can be a static ad having a position in the movie that cannot be moved, or a dynamic ad having a position in the movie that can be changed. When a viewer wishes to skip a portion of the movie containing the ad, the playback system determines whether the ad is static or dynamic. If the ad is static, only the portion of the movie preceding the static ad can be skipped; the ad is unskippable. This technique is referred to as “bounceback” since the end of the skip bounces back to the start of the static ad. If the ad is dynamic, it is moved to after the end of the skip. This technique is referred to as “slip-ad” since the ad slips to later in the movie. When a movie has multiple ads, some can be static and some can be dynamic.

Abstract: An auto-rotation module having a single-layer neural network on a user device can convert a document image to a monochrome image having black and white pixels and segment the monochrome image into bounding boxes, each bounding box defining a connected segment of black pixels in the monochrome image. The auto-rotation module can determine textual snippets from the bounding boxes and prepare them into input images for the single-layer neural network. The single-layer neural network is trained to process each input image, recognize a correct orientation, and output a set of results for each input image. Each result indicates a probability associated with a particular orientation. The auto-rotation module can examine the results, determine what degree of rotation is needed to achieve a correct orientation of the document image, and automatically rotate the document image by the degree of rotation needed to achieve the correct orientation of the document image.

Abstract: Interaction events collected across disparate customer communication channels of an enterprise are processed to generate an encoded unique content item identifier for each content item referenced in an interaction event such that the content item is resolvable to a location in a content repository. A training data set is built using the interaction events thus processed and a multi-channel content recommendation model is trained using the training data set. The multi-channel content recommendation model thus trained stores data points representing intersections of customers and content items that the enterprise has been tracking, with each data point having an effectiveness score for an associated content item. The multi-channel content recommendation model thus trained can be queried by content designers of the disparate customer communication channels through a recommender application for content recommendations based on the effectiveness of the content, agnostic to the disparate customer communication channels.
