Abstract:
A tool path for treating a shoe upper may be generated to treat substantially only the surface of the shoe bounded by a bite line. The bite line may be defined to correspond to the junction of the shoe upper and a shoe bottom unit. Bite line data and three-dimensional profile data representing at least a portion of a surface of a shoe upper bounded by a bite line may be utilized in combination to generate a tool path for processing the surface of the upper, such as automated application of adhesive to the surface of a lasted upper bounded by a bite line.
Abstract:
Provided is, among other things, a shoe having a sole that includes multiple layers and an upper attached to and extending above the sole. In addition, the shoe includes a tab having: (1) a first portion, located between adjacent layers of the sole and thus hidden from view, that is imprinted with identification information pertaining to the shoe and (2) a second portion that is visible during ordinary use of the shoe.
Abstract:
An apparatus is for use with a shoe and a horizontal working surface. The apparatus includes a shoe holder configured to receive and hold the shoe in a stationary upright position. The shoe holder includes an anti-slip portion.
Abstract:
A tool for shaping an ice skate boot includes a ram member and a corresponding receiver member. The ram member is placed against a selected area of a first surface of the ice skate boot that causes a user discomfort, and is pressed against the selected area so as to flatten or shape the selected area. The receiver member, which includes a cavity and a rim, is placed against an opposing second surface of the boot. One or more arcuate notches formed in the rim of the receiver member receive a part of the second surface of the ice skate boot when the ram member presses against the first surface of the ice skate boot.
Abstract:
Described are methods for the manufacture of a shoe, an apparatus to perform such method, as well as a shoe manufactured by such method. According to certain examples, the method for the manufacture of a shoe includes providing a three-dimensionally pre-shaped first shoe component and processing the three-dimensionally pre-shaped first shoe component, wherein the processing includes an individually controllable succession of processing steps.
Abstract:
A machine to tape articles, also having a complex shape, along edges of layers of material already temporarily joined together along a join line, comprising a taping unit suitable to apply a tape in correspondence to the join line, and at least a movement unit to determine the feed of the edges and comprising a first roll having a first axis of rotation and at least a second roll having a second axis of rotation substantially parallel to the first axis of rotation. The first roll and the second roll define, in use, a passage gap for the edges. The second roll is mounted on a support element configured to rotate around an axis of rotation substantially coinciding with the second axis of rotation.
