    Abstract: Provided is a filtration device used in order to improve the water quality of the final effluent in an advanced treatment facility for sewage and wastewater. The variable filtration device (10) of this type comprises a filtration tank (20), a filtration unit (30), a winding unit (50) and a filter cloth (12) arranged in such a way that the filtration conditions can be controlled by adjusting the number of turns of winding and the extent of pulling of the filter cloth in the chamber where the filtered water is formed, thereby allowing relatively easy porosity control as compared with the prior art, so enabling ready adjustment to the target water quality and water quantity even when the quality of the inflowing water varies.

    Abstract: A suction filter has a filter member including multiple filter layers stacked in a thickness direction. The suction filter removes extraneous matters contained in fuel when the fuel passes through the filter member in the thickness direction. The filter member has gaps among the filter layers adjacent to each other in the thickness direction. An opening area variable section is formed in at least one of the filter layers. The opening area variable section enlarges and opens when the filter layer bends. The opening area variable section enlarges and opens to form a through hole penetrating through the filter layer if the filter layer bends to a downstream filter layer side due to flow pressure caused when the fuel flows.

    Abstract: A self-cleaning assembly comprising an enclosed casing 1 with a movable piston 31 and filters 32,33 therein. The preferred assembly has a casing 1 with a dirty water inlet 5, a first outlet 6 for clean filtered water and a second outlet 7 for the removal of sludge from the casing. The filter assembly is constructed and arranged to provide, in its normal operating mode, a liquid flow path through the filter 32,33 in a first direction between the dirty water inlet 5 and the clean water outlet 6 and, in a cleaning mode, to provide a liquid flow path in a second direction between the dirty water inlet 5 and the sludge outlet 7. In the cleaning mode, the movable member 31 compresses the filters 32,33 during the liquid flow in the second direction and contaminant is released therefrom for removal from the filter assembly via the second outlet 7. In an alternative embodiment, the sludge outlet 7 is omitted and sludge is removed from the casing via the outlet 6.

    Abstract: The pore size controllable filter can separate and remove effectively the suspended solid and eliminate rapidly it captured by the device. The filtering materials (21) are built on the upper filtering material holder (23) and the lower filtering material holder (24) of radial type facing each other at a certain distance in the filtering tub (2), forming a filtering layer (21a).
