摘要: The present disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for applying liquid feed additives to a feed composition. In one embodiment, the system has a spray housing defining a spray chamber located adjacent a mix housing carrying a material composition. The mix housing defines a mix chamber, which contains an actuating device, such as an auger, that moves the material stream through the mix chamber. The mix chamber and spray chamber are in fluid communication. A spray nozzle is coupled to the spray housing and in fluid communication with an air source and liquid additive tank. The spray nozzle sprays a fog of air and liquid additive through the spray chamber and into the mix chamber, which gets deposited on the passing feed stream.

摘要: An apparatus and method for introducing a metered volume of air into a continuously generated and flowing slurry composed of metered dry cementitious material, metered water and metered air entraining (or foaming) agent and for homogenizing this air into bubbles or cells of relatively small size to produce a uniform cellular product. The apparatus comprises a positive displacement progressive cavity slurry pump driven by a variable speed motor. By driving the pump at a speed in excess of the speed required to accommodate the volume of slurry being generated, the pump will draw air proportionately to this excess of speed. Further elements of the apparatus comprise a closed conduit system for the slurry discharging from the pump, this system communicating with a cylindrical homogenizing apparatus wherein rotating elements homogenize the metered air and slurry with the cooperation of the air entraining agent into a foamed material having relatively small air cells of uniform size. The homogenized slurry material is propelled through and beyond the homogenizing apparatus through a communicating conduit to the point of deposit.

摘要: An apparatus for treating high-consistency fiber suspension is especially suitable for short distance conveyances of thick fiber suspensions (consistency more than 15%) in pulp and paper industry, for example for discharge of mass towers either with or without any actual pump. The treatment of fiber suspension with a consistency more than 15% is not possible with the known technique without a displacement type of pump, which is expensive and easy to break. Additionally, in discharging of the mass tower, drop leg, etc., fiber suspension causes trouble by arching in the container in such a way that it forms an open chamber around the pump located at the bottom of the container which chamber is slowly filled by fiber suspension. The problems are solved or minimized by arranging a feed apparatus in the pump chamber, which feed fiber suspension to a fluidizing rotor, for fluidizing the fiber suspension, whereafter the suspension flows onwards. The feeder apparatus raises the pressure of the fiber suspension sufficiently for the fluidization, not too high, in which case the operational members would be stressed redundantly. Fiber suspension is fed excessively to the rotor, whereby the feeding pressure of fiber suspension is controlled by throttling devices arranged separate from the feed apparatus in the back-circulation or passage.
